-INTRODUCTION-
However, MANY people ridicule the beliefe of Angels or "Higher Forces", guiding & helping us on a day to day basis. But IF we reflect for a moment: Just as WE take care of plants & animals in need, is it so hard to accept that OTHER entities more "evolved" than ourselves would guide, help & nurtur us?

-THE GOAL-
Unfortunately, anyone seriously investigating this kind of information is inundated with a truly overwhelming amount of information. But to be quite frank a good 70% of it is misleading, people going on about their trips to Venus, how they can read their pets minds
, or communicating with supposed spirit entities etc. If these people could REALLY do all of these things, they wouldn't be hanging around here & telling us about them, they'd already have made their fortunes & not asking us to buy their $50 video-tape now would they?
But through this plethora of charlatans & fame & fortune seekers lies what can be termed TRUE esoteric knowledge. Teachings that go back thousands of years, lost & rediscovered, or simply not known to the general public. What REALLY does exist CAN be proven & documented. Much of this knowledge lies in the major religions of the world, but through thousands of years of reinterpretation & distortion the TRUE spiritual meanings of these teachings has been lost. One also has to keep in mind, that much of this knowledge has been encrypted in metaphor (symbolic meaning), so as not to be understood by just anyone. Knowledge is power, & this type of information in the wrong hands could far too easily be abused.

What this page hopes to do is to let the average person separate the fact from the fiction & present the TRUE ESOTERIC PRICIPLES, as guide to what it takes to evolve spiritually. One of the first things you'll have to keep in mind is that to accept a NEW idea, you have to DISPLACE an OLD one. Think about that for a moment, because through these pages you'll be presented with some radically new concepts, some which a lot of people will have trouble accepting. SPIRITUALLY -The only variable here is the actual level of enlightenment we attain...

ACHIEVING BALANCE, WITHIN & WITHOUT
It would be pointless to try & achieve any form of spiritual evolution without being at first aware of our physical being. The principle behind the Martial Arts of the Orient was not to overpower an opponent, but to use the rigorous physical discipline involved in training the body as a form of spiritual development. The body is the mind, the mind is the body.
RESONANCE
For people involved in Science or Sound engineering the following concepts will be familiar. But these principals viewed in an esoteric application may surprise scientists & skeptics alike.
All forms of radiant energy are composed of electromagnetic waves, meaning several electrons moving at the speed of light in a wave like pattern. These include (from the lowest to the higest frequencies) Radio waves (AM is a lower frequency than FM), Microwaves, Infrared radiation (heat), Visible light, Ultraviolet rays, X-rays, and Gamma rays. All of these variations of the electromagnetic spectrum are similar in composition except for their wavelength, or width of vibrational frequency. The shorter the wavelength of the radiation, the higher the energy.

There are different "frequences" we or other objects resonate at, not to imply that
one frequency is better than the other, for each one has it's own characteristics. What is
important that we seek "harmoneous resonances" to the people & places we encounter.
Much as certain notes in a chord or musical scale are in harmony or "dischord" with each
other, so are the people & places we encounter in our day to day existance. A "note" (a
person or object) can be in the wrong place &/or time & not fit in with what is going on at the moment. But that same "note" (a person or object) can arrive at another place &/or time & be the essential ingredient to make everything harmonious. But a moment sooner or later & single "note" might have created a cacacfony.
the FIVE CENTERS
There are five "points" or centers which compose our being.
PHYSICAL, AUTONOMIC, MENTAL, EMOTIONAL, & SEXUAL.
SELF OBSERVATION, SCIENTIFIC METHOD
Observation has been a process of scientific method for the last several centuries.
You observe a subject's response to certain events & stimuli, until you have a predictive behavior pattern through their ACTIONS & REACTIONS. The difference here is that WE are simultaneously the subject & the observer! A very difficult situation given that we lack the impartiality necessary to produce effective results. How can we possibly observe ourselves in an objective reality?
The first step to evolving on a personal & spiritual level is not unlike that of people initially attending an Alcoholics Anonymous meeting. They must be able to admit personally & publicly to HAVING a problem that needs correcting. You can't advance without realizing there is an imbalance. This first step is in itself a great acomplishment. To be able to confront the fact that MAYBE you aren't perfect, shows a certain amount of humility & lack of ego & a willingness to evolve.
ASTRAL PROJECTION
The Astral Dimension is where we go when we sleep. When we dream our consciousness "resonates" at the level of dimension that we resonate at. For example, a person who is violent will encounter violence in their dreams, someone who is kind & pure of heart will have "happy" dreams. A persons state of resonance or level of vibration can easily be known by the presence of light in their dreams, no one has a nightmare where there sunlight or cloud free skies. Nightmares take place in the shadows, for it is only there where negative entities can manifest themselves.
*MEDITATION* the PRINCIPLE
The goal of meditation in it's purest sense, is to for however briefly escape the spiritually debilitating effects that our Defects (Ego's) have over us. This is done by vibrating or "resonating" in the Sixth Dimension, where our Defects CANNOT enter. Once there our Essence, the purest part of our being, can be awakened & manifest itself completely. People who have achieved this state are unanimous in their INABILITY to describe the event other than it cannot be put into words. A feeling of "Total bliss", "Complete happiness", feeling "Unconditional love" are the most common descriptions. But the sense of "Being at One with the Universe" may be the term that may have the most relevance in light of recent developments in Quantum Physics. In the Sixth Dimension, Time & Space are said NOT to exist. This has it's correlation in the long held belief of many Eastern Religions that Time & Space are only "Illusions" created by the Mind, & that by cessation of thoughts & the thinking process in general, we are able too transcend this "Illusion" & enter into the "true reality" of the Sixth Dimension. Recent Scientific speculation that Space is not at all "empty", but composed of an "Ether" or intricate "Matrix" of Neutrino particles thereby "conecting" everything with everything else, suports this principal.
EGO & ESSENCE
Ouspenski speaks here about the division into different 'I's "...man is not one, he is plural, a crowd, consisting of people who do not know one another and who fight with each other! This division into many 'I's was suplemented by the different roles a man plays in different circumstances. Then there was the division into knowledge and being - what man knows and what he is, I have also given you the division of man into seven categories: Man 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7..."
"Essence is what is born in you, personality is what you acquire... It is easier to to distinguish personality from essence in others..."
Q. If essence is what we are born with, can it be added to? A. Yes, but it can be done only if personality becomes educated and ceases to press upon essence. Personality is too heavy, too strong; it surrounds essence like a shell, so nothing can reach it directly, everything has to pass through personality. Essence cannot grow in these conditions, but, if personality becomes more transparent, impressions and external influences will penetrate through it and reach essence, and then essence will begin to grow. Q. So a strong personality prevents impressions from reaching one's essence? A. Yes, but what does a strong personality mean? It means a strong influence of what is not your own, of what you have acquired - other people's words, other people's views and theories. they can form such a thick crust 'round essence that nothing can penetrate it to reach YOU, to reach what you are.
Q. Is it possible to break this shell and destroy it? A. before destroying this shell of personality, or breaking it, it is necessary to prepare other defences. If, for some reason this shell falls off, people find themselves without defences against many very difficult influences which they can't control. Personality keeps you from certain distant influences; IF YOU WEAKEN IT YOU WILL BE UNDER MANY INFLUENCES WHICH COULD NOT REACH YOU BEFORE, YOU WILL HAVE EVEN LESS CONTROL THAN YOU HAVE NOW. But there are many things which we could control and do not control now. This is the right way of thinking about it...." (Among the many dangers he mentions are atmospehric changes, change of seasons, and "many other things ... about which we have no idea") ..."old books on magic warn people about how dangerous this is... one must be prepared beforehand..... the opening of essence may be good, but it may be accompanied by many dangers" - later he The following is an excerpt from the book by Ouspensky "The Fourth Way" which I am sending partly to show the similarity to Gnostic teachings and partly because of what he states about the dangers of exposure of essence when someone is not properly prepared.
"In self-study one is told of this division" (between essence and personality) " but essence and personality are so mixed that for a long time this division remains theoretical," (we cannot distinguish between them) ."know which is which by observation, except in extreme cases. Then, as one works, one gradually begins to see that one thing is more ingrained, goes deeper, another less. In this way, little by little one can see essence..."
