Most of my adult life I’ve been interested in U.S. Naval Warship History. Over the years I’ve added to my own library collection of research books on this particular warship hobby, and continue to gather books, journals, tidbits of information, and anything that is remotely connected to U.S. Naval Fighting Ships, Merchant ships, and Liberty Ships.
At present I am involved in researching history on Liberty Ships and compiling that information for future use. The research I’m doing is labor intensive because I’m attempting to take each Liberty ship and compile what convoys they were in during the war years, which one sunk, reason they sunk, ....etc...etc...etc.....[and example of my effort is here on this site,of which I will update with new postings on a regular basis.(Liberty ship listings as of 12/18/07 are SS PAUL HAMILTON, SS PETER SILVESTER, SS ROBERT F. HOKE, SS CHARLES MORGAN, SS JAMES A. WILDER, SS JAMES SCREVEN/USS SHAULA AK-118)...just click] Liberty Ships Sunk & Damaged
What I really get enjoyment out of is offering this research material to whomever wishes info about a particular U.S. Naval Fighting Ship...Merchant Ship, and Liberty Ship. I don’t wish to lead you to believe that I am a “Know it All”......because I am not. If someone request history on a particular ship, and I have the info, or I can dig it up, or obtain it from the many similar interest groups that I belong to....I’ll send it to you via e-mail, snail mail, or fax.....at “NO CHARGE TO YOU”.....completely “FREE”.
So if your hobby is in “Genealogy” and your wishing some info on a particular ship that a family member was on....just give me a shout and I’ll see what I can provide.
My information comes from several sources...of which are DANFS, my own library, the city Library, internet, journals, and information I’ve gathered over the years.....and yes from other individuals that share my ships history interest.
Some of my writings and research is listed below, I think you may find somewhat interesting.
So if you have a question, or wish info on a vessel, just give me a shout via my e-mail....I normally reply in a prompt manner and will work with you on getting to the bottom of your request.
