I had built the trimaran Switchblade ten years previously and had a fantastic time sailing her. She was exciting and fast, logging 12 kph on a close reach with only 15 degrees of heel. As I grew older, I wanted a small “pocket cruiser”, something comfortable that the wind could knock down and have it right itself. The “quest” for a new boat began. After months of searching (and researching), I decided on a Precision 18. We found the one that we wanted at Strictly Sail in Cincinnati, Ohio. A month later we sold our trimaran, Switchblade and brought our “new to us” Precision 18 home. The “quest” for another boat was finished.
