Just a note or two...

Welcome Bowlers! Here are a few tidbits about our league. We are a mixed handicap bowling league located in Portage, IN. We have many Die Hard Members who have come back year after year to bowl on our league. League fees are $13.00 per person per night. We bowl 35 weeks. We will not bowl on Super Bowl Sunday or Easter Sunday. Our last night of bowling will be on April 26, 2009.

Our 2008 - 2009 Bowling Banquet will be held on Saturday, May 9, 2008 at the Hobart Elks. There will be no charge for league members for this evening. Guest are welcome for a price of $TBA per person. . Cocktails will begin at 6:00 PM. Dinner will be at 7:00, or as soon as all guest arrive. The League pay off and awards presentation will immediatley follow dinner. Then, as I finish my final duty...I turn the evening over to the DJ and we will party the night away. Practice your Bohemian Rhapsody, our annual event at 11:00. We will then turn into pumpkins at Midnight... or take the Party somewhere else?!?

days 'til our bowling banquet!

Thank you everyone who participates in our League "Outlaw" 50/50. The money that is collected with our raffle, pays for our DJ, perfect attendance awards, open bar, cash door prizes at the banquet, and Christmas Cash. Dig deep into those pockets when the team who bowls the blind, comes to "shake you down!"

Good Friends, good beer, and we have had some great bowling too! We hope to continue the trend of great bowling.

This year I am sure we will continue to have awesome scores bowled, but so far 25 weeks into the season, no one has bowled an honor award yet. The lanes are really tough this year. Finally... almost an honor score, but we are going to count this. April 1, HAHA! Robert Kerley bowled 11 strikes in a row starting in the second frame after he blew the first frame. Congrats Robert~

Last year, Mike Fazekas started out our new USBC awards with 11 strikes in a row starting in the second frame on August 28, 2005..The Vandy boys both earned honor awards on December 18, 2005. John started out with an awesome 300 game, followed by a 289 and 254, to give him a stellar 845 series. Erik, who had taught John every think he knows, blasted a 290 game, eleven in a row starting the second frame. Way to bowl, guys! John Vandy did it again! January 8, 2006, John shot his second 300 of the bowling season. Ernie Dodd bowled a 298 the same night. Awesome bowling! The last honor score of the season was shot by Mike Wauagaman, he shot an awesome 300 game on April 30, 2006.

Two years ago, on March 13, 2005, we had three honor scores. First, John Vandy earned his second 11-in-a-row award with a 290 game during his first game while his teammate, Mike Fazekas bested him by rolling a 298 in the same game. It's the first time in league history that two teammates earned honor scores in the same game. In his last game, Jim Somers earned his first honor score of the year by rolling a 298. Congratulations to John, Mike, and Jim. On March 6th, Jada Mocaby rolled a 773 series. Great bowling, Jada! February 13, 2005, Wayne Backe bowled his first ever 300 Game! Please... Send me some luck, Wayne! On January 9, 2005, Robert Kerley rolled a 299 his last game. Great Game, Robert! John Vandy, shot his first career 300, October 10, 2004, then on January 30, 2005, John bowled another outstanding game with an 11 in a row award for a 290 game. Great Shooting, John! But did you really have to bowl it against my team? Just kidding! (not). Gary DeWitt popped a nice 298 Game on November 14.2004. ...On September 5, 2004, Jada Mocaby shot 11 Strikes in a row to earn the first ABC & WIBC Honor Awardsof this season.

Three years ago, we have had two of our bowlers shoot 300 games within two weeks. On March 14. 2004, Tim Seibal blasted 12 in a row for his first 300 this year. Then two weeks later on March 28, 2004, John Phillips fired a 300 Game. On September 21, 2003, Gary Dewitt was the first to shoot an honor award. He earned another (LOL! Deann) 11-in-a-row plaque. Great shooting Gary! Three weeks later, on October 12, 2003, Gary fired an 807 Series with a great game of 298! He is so close to that elusive 300.

Four years ago, our league had one 800 Series, three 300 scores and a 299! Jeff Tall was the first ABC Award winner for the 2002 - 2003 season. He fired a great series of 814 on the first night of league. Tony Call bowled the first "300" game of the season, on December 8, 2002. The very next week on December 15, Tim Seibal shot his first 300 Game. Greg Crouch shot his first league play 300 on January 13, 2003. Darryl Weimer shot a 299 Game on March 23, 2003. Awesome Bowling! Jeff, Tony,Tim,Greg, and Darryl!

Five years ago, in the 2001- 2002 Season, our league had 2 ABC Members earn a ring with 300 Game. Mike Fazekas was the first to fire a 300 Game on October 28th. Mike also earned a 700 Series award that night along with 100 pins over average watch. Gary DeWitt shot a 790 on November 25, 2001, with his first game a 300, then on January 13, 2002, he fired a 298 game! Again on January 27, 2002, Gary shot his second 300 of the year! Way to bowl, Gary! Congratulations to our Honor Award winners. February 10, 2002, Felicia Fazekas shot a 278.
