Kyle's idiot jock buddies beat up Max and warn him to stay away from Liz. Max tells Liz his injuries are from a fall. Isabelle tells Max he should just use his powers to get rid of his bruises and scars. Max allows them to heal naturally in order to seem normal. A few eyebrows might be raised if his scars suddenly disappeared.
Liz's grandmother comes to visit and becomes ill. Liz asks Max to do what he can for her grandmother. Max explains that he can't heal people - he's not God. However, he helps Liz say goodbye to her grandmother before she dies by entering her thoughts.
Liz breaks up with Kyle after finding out Kyle's friends are responsible for Max's bruises.
