Santas Party
Welcome to Santa's Party
Our Morningside CRIME WATCH 'Santa's Party' was iniatially to be focused for 'at-risk youth' , but we expanded to also incorporate our Santa's Party being open to the general public.
Seventy-eight (78) children were provided presents and candy.
In this photo parents and children are in a line to go see Santa.
[ NOTE : Of the seventy-eight (78) children who recieved Christmas gifts, seventy-one (71) children attended our Santa's Party to recieve refreshments and food with their families.
Additional gifts were delivered to seven (7) children who were not present.
All of the remaining gifts and most remaining candy was donated to other C.O.P. Shops and Neighborhood Associations. ]
Santa was there for the children to sit on his lap, telling what
they want for Christmas. It was obvious in some of their requests that not
much was expected this year at Christmas in their homes.
Retired Muncie Policeman Thom Delaney has been 'Santa' for various Muncie organizations and neighborhood groups for the past twenty years.
Thom certainly showed how great of a 'Santa' he is.
The kids loved him !
Hey, lets see if we can find a photo of Thom,
Three of our Morningside Neighborhood girls served as 'Santas Helpers' with the children,
and their names were :
Miss. Danielle Helms
Miss. Shanda Nolley
Miss. Ashley Watters
Santa 'Thom' is here showing his personal hand gesture greeting that he has made
famous during his 20+ year career as a Policeman and then School Teacher and
Town Marshall following retirement.
Also appreciated was the fantastic K-9 demonstrations given by Officer Rick Howell and his 95 pound Belgian Malinois K-9 named "Boyka".
Officer Howell kept the front pourch of C.O.P. Shop #10 filled with amazed children and parent observers.
The Belgum Malinois breed is a highly intelligent dog that is extremely popular in Belgium, where they are used
as excellent watchdogs, used for herding, search & rescue work, and narcotics detection.
Patrolman Howell has been on the Muncie Police Department almost five (5) years.
Presents and candy canes were provided for every child.

Barbie Dolls
Hot Wheel Cars

This event was fun for everyone, and its excellence was made possible with the unselfish support of some Muncie community buisness Managers, Muncie Police Department, and alot of devoted citizen volunteers pooling their talets, resources, contacts and labor to make it all happen as well as it did.
A BIG "Thank You" goes to all the Santa's Party Volunteers who
