Seymour Opera House
Majestic Theatre

(copyright wording will not appear on the purchased print)

The Seymour Opera House was built in 1890, and featured many traveling live productions, as well as its share of vaudeville performers. In 1913 it became known as the Majestic Theatre. It was a challenge to decide how to draw this building, as it had been remodeled a number of times in its life. I chose a later version. It was tore down in 1966. It stood where the Home Federal building is now on the northeast corner of 2nd & Walnut in Seymour, Indiana. The bell from its bell tower can be seen hanging at the southeast corner of Third and Walnut Streets.
