Nintendo 64: The Fun Machine

Part II

Everything is back to normal now. I fixed the problem with Angelfire and I will now continue the editorial from September 27th.

Cruis'n USA

This game comes out November 18th. It is barely enhanced over the arcade version, although it does have a save option and two-player mode. Frame rate will be smoother and there will be less pop-up. Besides all of that, this 64-megabit racing game is almost identical to the arcade game.

Killer Instinct Gold

This is a 64-Bit version of Killer Instinct 2, the arcade game. This game doesn't use polygon graphics like those used in Super Mario 64. The graphics are ACM rendered, like all the other Killer Instinct games. This game uses all the original characters plus a few from KI2. Look for this game in stores on November 25th.

Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire

This is expected to be one of the best games coming out this year for the Nintendo 64. You play Dash Rendar, the main character, as you blast your way through a whole bunch of variety-filled levels. This game is supposed to be 96 megabits and comes out December 2nd, right in time for the holidays.

Super Mario Kart 64

Although this game isn't coming out this year, I thought it would be a good idea to talk about it. This is one game that is on everyone's list. It uses all four modes from the original Super Mario Kart, including the Battle Courses. All the items are the same, as well. There are two new characters: Donkey Kong and Wario. The thing that will really catch your eye, though, is the graphics. They are obviously better than the original's. This game should come out either in January or February 1997.

I'm going to wait until November to start the third part of this editorial. I don't really have that much information on all the games. Here is a more accurate list of upcoming games (they are listed in order of release dates):
  • Wayne Gretzky's 3-D Hockey (Nov. 18, 1996)
  • NBA Hang Time (Dec. 9, 1996)
