Nintendo's Fall Line-Up

Nintendo has quite a few games (Game Boy, Super NES, and Nintendo 64) coming out this fall. And a few of them have already been released last month in September.

As you may may have noticed, the Super NES has seen better days. Nintendo has at least one Super NES game coming this fall: Kirby's Super Star Stacker. Nintendo has hinted at having one or two other games, but no titles have been announced. What Nintendo really is doing is re-releasing twelve older Super NES games. Check the Super NES Section for details on these twelve games.

With Game Boy Color coming in less than two months, Nintendo's portable system is getting more and more popular. Nintendo already released Pokémon (Blue and Red versions) in September. This game is the first of many Pokémon games to come, for both Game Boy and the Nintendo 64. A bunch of games are set to be released on November 24th: Conker's Pocket Tales, Pocket Bomberman, Snoopy's Magic Show, and Tetris Deluxe. Also in November is Game & Watch Gallery 2. Early next year, although that's not considered as part of Fall 1998, the color versions of The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening and Wario Land II. There will also be eight other color versions of classic Game Boy games, by Nintendo. The titles are unknown.

I guess you could say that the Nintendo 64 is THE system. And Nintendo is treating it as such. Bomberman Hero and Cruis'n World are already released. This month, F-Zero X will be released. Next month (well, everyone knows what game this is), Nintendo will release the biggest and best N64 game for years to come: The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. This game will be Nintendo's first game to use 256 megabits of memory. So, you'll be in for quite a ride. And in December, Star Wars: Rogue Squadron will get released. This will be Nintendo's first game to use the 4MB RAM Expansion Pak.

You might have noticed that Rare has only had one N64 game this year (Banjo-Kazooie) and none this fall. The next Rare N64 game (Twelve Tales: Conker 64) will be released in the first quarter of 1999. But, hold on, Rare does have Conker's Pocket Tales for Game Boy. And this game is no letdown.

So, that's it. Look for my next editorial about one month from now.
