Organizations in Kannur

	Kannur was always famous for its activism whether in political or in any other public activities. This resulted in mass organizations in all walks of social life with a solid base in the grass root level. Kannur may be the district having largest network of rural libraries, cultural societies and film societies. People are politically aware and youth and student organizations, trade unions, service organizations etc. are having considerable role in molding public opinion.
	There are thousands of organisations in Kannur District and it will be nearly impossible to compile a list of them. Hence we will be trying to list major organizations. Even though it may be incomplete and you are invited to make your nominations.
