| Kannur district was formed on 1st Jan 1957. It was the largest district of Kerala. On 15th Mar 1957, the South Wayanad Taluk was included in Kozhikkode district. Kasaragod district was formed on 24th May 1984 and the Kasaragod and Hosdurg taluks were included in new Kasaraagod district. Presently Kannur includes the three taluks - Kannur, Thalassery and Taliparamba. | |||
