CONTENTS:

Instantaneous access to latest information on the desktop encompasses a combination of computer and communication technologies. INSDOC offers indigenous databases on its online host system for public access. There are presently five databses available on the host system for on-line access. The databases have been created by INSDOC or by other organisations and ported on to INSDOC's system for online access. Users can have unlimited access to these databases against a nominal annual subscription. Search results can be downloaded and printed as well.Three of the online databases viz National Union Catalogue of Scientific Serials in India (NUCSSI) database, Indian Patents (INPAT) database and Indian Science Abstracts (ISA) database are available on CD-ROM as well.

In addition to indigenous databases, INSDOC also has access to a host of international databases. These include database vendors like DIALOG and STN. In all, over 1500 international databases are accessed by INSDOC. Skilled personnel at INSDOC perform searches for research scientists and the corporate sector who use information from these databases for the latest R&D, commercial and market information.
