FMSCI 2 Wheeler Technical Regulations Bulletins

The following changes are made in the 2 Wheeler Technical Regulations, Vol II of the NCR of the FMSCI.  These Bulletins are effective from July 21, 1998

Bulletin No.1

Page 4, Vol II, Art.1.2.2

After class M-2 Above 80 up to 110 cc add :

Class M-3 Above 110 cc upto 150 cc (New class introduced)
Class M-4 above 150 cc upto 185 cc
Class M-5 Above 185 cc upto 260 cc
Class M-6 Above 260 cc upto 360 cc
Class M-7 Above 360 cc upto 510 cc

Add Art.1.2.2.2 Motorcycles - Four Strokes

Class FS0 upto 55 cc
Class FS1 Above 55 cc upto 80 cc
Class FS2 Above 80 cc upto 110 cc
Class FS3 Above 110 cc upto 150 cc

After Para 2 of Art.1.2.4 "A vehicle may be homologated....defined above", add the following paragraph

However, four stroke motorcycles of class FS1,FS2,FS3 are allowed to compete with two stroke motorcycles class M0,M1 and M2 respectively.

Page 13, Vol II, Art.3.2.14.1 FRONT MUDGUARD - Add new sentence at the end of Article as follows :

It is permitted to strengthen the existing front mudguard and / or brackets

Page 13, Vol II, Art.3.2.14.1 FRONT MUDGUARD - Add new sentence at the end of Article as follows :

For Motocross and Dirt Races, wheel rims are FREE for Group "B" & "C", but must respect Art.2.1.1, Chapter 2, Page 5 Vol II of the NCR

Page 20,  Vol II - Add new articles as follows after Art.3.4.6 FIRST AID KIT

3.4.7 Locking Devices

Front and Rear axle and swing arms should be secured with self lock nuts or locking pins.

3.4.8 Minimum weight

The minimum weight for two wheelers conforming to Group "C" shall not be more than 10% lower and for Group "D" shall not be more than 15% lower than the weight specified in the respective homologation form.

Page 22, Vol II, After Article 4.1.4.8 "To provide for increased power...Lighting Coil is Free" add new article as follows :

9. O.E. Speedometer are allowed to be removed and fitting of odometer / navigational instruments is permitted

12. For Speed events Reed Valves are FREE

Page 26, Vol II, Rephrase Art.4.2.5.3 Brakes as follows

Any brake assembly and / or axle assembly conforming to the definition of Indian Component may be used.  However, modification is permitted only to the extent of allowing safe fitment.
