NASCAR:The American Tradition
I have been a avid race fan for many years. I started off as a big Indy car fan back in the good old days of Mario, Mears, Sullivan and the gang. Unfortunately like many sporting leagues, greed and power took over. Like many race fans I am not happy in regards to the split that occurred between CART and the IRL.
This was the straw that broke the camels back, I made up my mind… NASCAR was the only true form of racing left in the USA. Nothing is better then watching the good ole boys competing on Sunday afternoons (and a few Saturdays). The cars actually resemble something that I can see in a dealer and the drivers and some of the teams put forth a aura that I can relate to (or so it seams). NASCAR has experienced a tremendous rise in popularity over the last 10 years. Like many it is still a big business but one that I feel comfortable relating to. I have always been raised a big FORD fan. I have worked on all types of cars and there are very few jobs that I haven’t done. Most of this is due to the fact that as a kid we owned Chevrolet’s and they always broke down. What a great form of practice. Thanks GM for making such a sub par vehicle, otherwise I would not be able to complete as many automotive related jobs if it wasn’t for you.
