Ffarwel greaduriaid [gwycha'u / gwychaf] ryw

(Rhagoriaeth doniau Crist)
Ffarwel greaduriaid gwych'u rhyw,
  Pob enau îs y ne';
Ni welaf wrthrych wrth fy modd
  Yn unig ond Efe.

Mae'i ddoniau yn rhagori 'mhell
  Ar holl frenhinoedd byd;
A theimlo 'rwyf ei fod ei hun
  Yn hollol lanw 'mryd.

Mae'i eiriau fel y diliau mêl,
  A'i holl orch'mynion sy
I gyd yn dangos rhinwedd maith
  Sancteiddrwydd nefoedd fry.

Mae'i addewidion fel yr haul,
  Yn sicr gadw'u lle;
Ac nid ä'r sillaf leia' ar goll
  O'i hyfryd eiriau e'.

A minnau'n hollol ro'f fy mhwys
  Ar allu 'Mrenin mawr,
Yr hwn a'm nertha i fyned trwy
  Gystuddiau maith y llawr.

(The excellence of the gifts of Christ)
Farewell creatures of most brilliant kind,
  Every name under heaven;
I see no object to my satisfaction
  Except Him alone.

His gifts are far excelling
  Over all the kings of the world;
And feeling I am that he himself is
  Wholly flooding my mind.

His words are like the combs of honey,
  And all his commandments are
Altogether showing the vast virtue
  Of the holiness of heaven above.

His promises are like the sun,
  Securely keeping their place;
And not the least syllable shall go missing
  Of his delightful words.

As for me, I shall wholly lean
  On the power of my great King,
He shall strengthen me to go through
  The vast tribulations of earth.
tr. 2016 Richard B Gillion
