Seren y Gogledd

Fe grwydra llawer seren wen

Seren y Gogledd
Fe grwydra llawer seren wen
  Yn y ffurfafen fry;
Ac i bob seren
    trefnwyd rhod,
  Ac yn ei rhod y try.

O amgylch rhyw un seren wen
  Y trônt uwchben y byd;
Ym mhegwn nef
    mae honno 'nghrog, -
  Diysgog yw o hyd.

Mae gennyf innau seren wen,
  Yn fy ffurfafen i;
Holl sêr fy nef
    sydd yn eu cylch
  Yn troi o'i hamgylch hi.

Syr John Morris-Jones 1864-1929

The Star of the North
Many a bright star wanders
  In the firmament above;
And for every star
     a circuit was arranged,
  And it its circle it turns.

Around a certain bright star
  They turn above the world;
As the pole of heaven
    that one is hanging, -
  Immovable it is always.

I also have a bright star,
  In my firmament;
All the stars in my firmament
    are in their circle
  Turning around her.
