The Great Depression

Many of you know that the Great Depression was a very bad time in the 30's, but some of you know that the depression lasted until the end of World war II. While most of the men went off to defend their country, the women had to stay back and hold up the household. It was a very sad time for America.

Presidents: the short biographies

A.<>President Franklin Roosevelt was once again elected to a third-term in 1941 (only president ever to be elected to a term more than two times). Even though he was incapable of getting the U.s out of the depression, he was once again elected to another term. Even though he was elected, he never got to live the presidency. He died a couple of days before the war's end. He died of a cerebral hemorrhage on Apr. 12, 1945.

B.<>After the sudden death of President Rooseevelt, Vice-president Truman was asked to step into office. As the cold war started to develop, Truman talked dirty with the Russians and accused them of many matters. He was elected to a second term in 1948, and was convinced that he helped end the cold war, and prevent World War III.
