There are 3 things that have to happen in order to smoke a cigarette.
SO, there are actually 3 things you have to do to stop.
Quitting is hard if you don't really want to quit.
...This is so obvious, it sounds stupid!
At this point, you can't put a cigarette in your mouth,
Once you have gained control over your mouth and hands,
Because you see, your hands and your mouth and your mind
Don't try to "fight" the craving...
If you still crave a smoke and absolutely must give in,
In order to smoke, you have to
have a cigarette in your mouth.
To get it there, you have to hold it in your hand.
In order to do this, you have to have it in your mind...
you CRAVE a smoke.
But once you really WANT to quit, you CAN quit.
Go at your own speed. You can only quit as quickly as you want.
At this point, you can still hold a lit cigarette in your hand
and inhale the smoke through your nose
...you just can't put the cigarette
in your mouth.
In fact, someone else will have to light it for you.
and you can't hold one in your hand.
But you can still smell somebody else's burning butt.
NOTE: Here you are allowed to slip a little.
So if you just can't help it and you MUST hold your own burning butt,
well then, go ahead.
But remember, you can't put it in your mouth!!!
then, taking control of your own mind,
and letting go of the craving
won't be as hard as you might think.
all work as a team,
and you have just knocked out two players.
So NOW you can let go of the desire!
Just let it leave.
It may take a little while,
but without the help of your hands and mouth,
that craving has nothing to back it up.
It will want to leave.
THEN YOU CAN SLIP BACK TO STEP #2.
you can hold a cigarette in your hand,
but you can't put it in your mouth.
AS LONG AS IT ISN'T IN YOUR MOUTH,
YOU WILL SUCCEED IN YOUR DESIRE TO QUIT!
