Remembering Dell - Pictures, Page 3

Moving Day!

This picture was Dell taking a break from packing up on moving day. And it's just like him to have a soft drink in his hand, only his drink of choice as he got older was good ol' Mountain Dew. There was always Mountain Dew in the 'fridge or else he had a bottle of it in his hand. I remember when we were cleaning out his bedroom after he had died, what else beside his bed but a pack of cigarettes and a Mountain Dew. =o)

Sick

It's just like our Mom to have us veg out on the couch with a sprite in our hand when we're sick. =o) I'm not absolutely sure, but I believe this is right after Dell had his tonsils removed. I honestly can't remember ever seeing Dell sick. There was only one time I can remember off hand where he was hurt and that was when he had wrecked his car a few years ago, other than that... physically, I can't think of ever seeing him down. He had a small stature, probably around 5'6", but a very muscular build... quite a tough young man.

Hard at work

As children, we always had chores around the house. I must admit that as the baby of the family, I didn't have much to do. But this is Dell doing the dishes after supper. You can't see it in the picture, but he's still so little in this picture that he's standing on a step stool. As an adult, Dell didn't keep a steady job. He didn't think that he was worth it, so he would skimp around trying to find a place to stay at night and food to eat. He would only maintain a steady job if he was with someone, he thought that they were worth his effort. But in his eyes, he was never important enough. Now that he is gone... the impact of how much a part of my life he was, is felt.
