Yes, I'm one of those people sappy enough about my pets I have a special section on my web site devoted to them. But then, they deserve it. Where else do we get such unconditional love? They're excited to see me even when I have weird cases of bed-head; they love me even though I've been on an eating binge since I got this job and am beginning to resemble a marshmallow; they're enthralled with me even when I throw up; they keep me company even if I'm sweaty, stinky, and disgusting from mowing--well actually, especially then. But that's a whole 'nother story involving me as a human salt lick.

Beyond my pets, I find nature in general fascinating. An animal documentary is a surefire way to pause my channel-surfing finger. Or park me beside a window with a view of the bird feeders and I'm a happy camper. So how could I not have a critter section?
