Dane Fife

Dane Fife is a 6'4" from Clarkston, Michigan. Fife was born on July 26, 1979. Dane was"Mr. Basketball" in the state of Michigan as a senior. He was both a McDonald's and Parade All-America selection. He averaged 25.9 points, 4.8 rebounds, 5.1 assists and 2.4 steals per game as a senior, while being named to the USA Today's Preseason Super 25 in 1997-98 In his junior year, he averaged 26.8 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals. As a sophomore, he averaged 23.0 ppg, 6.0 rpg, 5.0 apg and 4.0 spg. In 9th grade he scored 16.7 points per game, along with 4.0 rebounds, 5.0 assists and 3.0 steals. Dane also played football. He was a three-year starter at quarterback and for his career completed 310 of 607 passes for 4,237 yards and 37 touchdowns. He was heavily recruited to play football

Dane shocked Michigan with his announcement that he would be gonig to Indiana University to play for Boby Knight. Dan, Dane's father and Dugan, Dane's older brohter, were both basketball captains at the University of Michigan. At Indiana as a Freshman, Dane averaged 3.3 points and 2.1 assists, while only committing 12 turnovers in 245 minutes during Big Ten play. As a sophomore he averaged 4.9 points, 3 rebounds, and two assists.

Dane is a loyalists. He stuck by Knight, throughout the saga this past year.
