MYSEARCH FOR ELIJAH HAYDEN

The purpose of this page is to seek information on my maternal third great grandfather, Elijah Hayden. All that I know about him for sure is that he died on 05 August 1811 and that he is buried in the Salem Baptist Church Cemetary in Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania.

Elijah's daughter, Permilia Hayden (my G.G. grandmother) was born 19 May 1808 in Westmoreland County. She married Philo Starks on 15 February 1831, also in Westmoreland County. They migrated to Elkhart County, Indiana, where they remained for the rest of their lives.

Family lore says that Elijah was the son of Nathaniel Hayden (29 November 1755-15 September 1845) and Abigail Osborne (11 June 1762-20 April 1836) The problem is that I can't find a record of Elijah anywhere else. All of the research that I've seen indicates that Nathaniel and Abigail had 10 children, and that Elijah was not among them. The only other indication I have of the relationship between them is the fact that they are all buried closely together in the Salem Baptist Church Cemetary.
