Sonya had just moved to the town not long ago. She was now living with her father who was divorced from her mother, and attending the high school there. Although she did not have many friends yet, Sonya hoped to make some soon. She brushed her long hair and put it into two matching pig tails. She looked at herself in the mirror and took a deep breath. She then walked outside and started her journey to her new school.
Haruka and Michiru were talking by the ice cream shop. They had met up with a new student that recently began to attend the high school, his name was Jesse. He had dark hair that hung to his ears and dark mysterious eyes. He was in the middle of talking to Hakura when he looked up and saw Sonya passing them. There was something about her that drew him to her. He watched with his eyes wide and filled with hope and joy. Could she really be the one he had been searching for?
"Are you okay Jesse?" Michiru asked.
"Huh? Oh yes I'm fine," he nodded. "I have to be going. I'll see you guys later."
They nodded and watched as Jesse headed off in the direction of the high school.
Haruka and Michiru looked at each other and then turned back to watch Jesse disappear into the shaodws. They both shrugged and decided that they too had better go to school.
Sonya sat in her last class bored and wishing she could go home. Not one student had even said hello or offered to help her to her class. She was feeling very down and closed her eyes. An image began to appear in her mind as she drifted off into a daydream. A young man stood there in front of her atop of a black steed. His hair hung to his ears and a smile was on his face. Sonya could sense evil about him, and yet for some reason she knew he was not evil. He reached out for her and pulled her closer, his face still cloaked in darkness. Suddenly a shape appeared in plain sight. A dark cresent moon appeared on his forehead and seemed to capture her there and she could not move. Sonya was jolted out of her daydream by the sound of the last bell.
The students quickly headed for the parking lot to leave school. Sonya walked out towards the sidewalk, cutting through the parking lot, when something caught her eye. She saw a young man leaning against a red jeep smoking a cigarette. His dark hair hung to his ears and his eyes stared straight ahead. Sonya could not help but to watch him as she started to pass. He suddenly looked over at her and smiled.
"Hi there," he said in a mysterious voice.
"Hi," Sonya said shyly.
"New here?" he asked.
"Yeah," she replied.
"I'm Jesse," he introduced taking her hand gently and kissing it. "What is your name?"
"My name's Sonya," she said as her cheeks turned a slight shade of red.
"Do you need a ride home?" he asked.
"Well..." she started. "It would be nice. I was just going to walk home instead of riding a stupid bus."
"Don't blame ya," Jesse smiled. "C'mon I'll give you a ride."
Sonya nodded and accepted the invitiation. She started to walk around to the other side of the jeep when a female voice yelled out Jesse's name. Sonya turned to see a girl with blonde hair in a boy's style. Her face was red and her fists were clentched.
"Jesse! Did you let the air out of my tires again?" she cried.
"Not me Haruka," Jesse grinned evilly. "I would never do that."
"Jesse! I"m going to kill you!" she growled.
"Haruka!" Michiru called out. "Leave him alone...oh who's your friend Jesse?"
Sonya turned to see another girl with wavy green hair standing beside Haurka, "My name's Sonya. I just started here."
"I'm Michiru, and this is Haruka. It's nice to meet you," Michuri smiled.
"Well don't hang around this guy too much," Haruka snapped. "He may have a bad influence on you."
"Give me some credit Haruka!" Jesse snapped back.
"They don't get along too well," Michuri told Sonya.
"I see," Sonya smiled. "Jesse can you please take me home?"
"Huh? Oh of course," Jesse nodded with a sweet smile.
Jesse and Sonya climbed into the jeep and left Haruka and Michuri standing in the parking lot with no way home. Sonya had to giggle at Jesse's actions and the face left on Haruka.
"That wasn't really nice," she laughed.
"There are times when being nice will get you into trouble. Besides, it's good to be bad sometimes," Jesse told her as he lit another cigarette.
Sonya watched him smoke his cigarette and smiled. She was enjoying his company already and they had just met. There was something about him that sweapt Sonya off her feet. He was handsome, michievious, and sweet. She didn't notice him glanceing at her as she stared at him.
"You okay?" he suddenly asked.
"Huh? Oh yeah," she blushed. "Just wondering."
"About what?" he asked.
"Why do you smoke?" she quickly responded.
"Helps ease the stress of school," Jesse replied.
"Oh..." Sonya told him. "Maybe I should try sometime."
"Nah," Jesse said. "Bad habit."
"And your point?" she questioned.
Jesse laughed, "So where do you live?"
"1841 West Craven," Sonya replied.
"No way!" Jesse said suddenly. "You live in that mansion?"
"Well my father does. I moved out of my mom's place," Sonya told him.
"Oh," Jesse said softly. "You're parents are divorced too?"
"Yeah," Sonya nodded.
Jesse found Sonya's house and pulled up to the gate. It opened slowly and Jesse began to drive down the path. It was strange that the gate had opened up all on it's own, without even knowing who was there.
"Why did it...." he started.
"Camara's on my side," Sonya smiled.
"Oh," Jesse said.
As Jesse pulled up to the house, he could not believe how big it was. His eyes widened it amazement as he stared at it. He slowed the jeep down and then stopped next to a sporty looking car. Sonya's eyes widened as she saw her father's butler waxing it. She jumped out of the jeep and started to look at it. Jesse climbed out and followed her, keeping an eye on the butler. The butler appearently was doing the same thing to Jesse.
"Who is your friend Miss Sonya?" he asked.
"His name is Jesse," Sonya smiled.
The butler only looked at Jesse with cautious eyes. Jesse knew that the man could tell that he was a trouble maker. It did not bother Jesse though, he ignored the man and watched as Sonya headed for the house. She stopped and turned waiting for Jesse. He smiled and quickly caught up to her and they walked into the house together.
"Daddy," Sonya called out.
"Yes dear?" a male voice called out as he appeared out of the shadows.
Jesse looked at the man carefully. He was very tall and muscular with dark hair and dark eyes. He smiled as his eyes landed upon Jesse. He extended a hand and grasped Jesse's firmly and shook it.
"And you are?" he asked.
"My name's Jesse," he told the man.
"Daddy this is my friend Jesse, Jesse this is my father," Sonya told them.
"My name is Blaine," he told Jesse.
"Nice to meet you," Jesse said.
"Sonya," Blaine started. "Why don't you go upstairs and get ready for supper. We are having guests over tonight."
"Yes Daddy," Sonya nodded but tunred to face Jesse. "Thank you for the ride home. See you tomorrow at school!"
"Yeah no problem," Jesse smiled. "See ya later."
Blaine watched as Jesse left the house without another word. He turned around and looked up the stairway to see Sonya staring down at him with questionable eyes. She said nothing but quickly ran upstairs to her room to prepare for supper.
"So this Sonya girl lives at the huge mansion?"Haruka asked.
"Well it's her fathers house she just moved in with him," Jesse said smoothly, taking a long drag off his cigerette.
"She seems really nice Jesse," Michuri told him.
"Yeah too nice for you!" Haruka laughed.
"Very funny," Jesse grumbled. "She's nice, but her father's strange. He's really mysterious and kinda shady."
"Really?" Haruka and Michuri asked in unison.
"Yeah," Jesse nodded. "Well I'm gonna leave you guys and go find Sonya."
"Hmm going on a date already?" Haruka tesased.
Jesse threw her a dirty look and walked off without word. Michuri stood there deep in thought. What Jesse had said bothered her a bit. The description of Sonya's father matched the same as the new villian the Sailor Scouts had been fighting recently. She looked up and saw Haruka staring at her with concern in her eyes.
"What are you thinking Michuri?" she asked.
"I wonder," Michuri started. "If he has any connection to the attacks recently."
"Maybe," Haruka nodded. "Think we should find out?"
"Maybe," Michuri replied. "But I think we had better start with Sonya."
"Huh? Why her?" Haruka asked.
"Just because. Come on before we're late," Mirchuri said as she started down the hallway.
The day had passed by quickly for Sonya and it had soon ended at school. She walked down the hallways alone wondering why she had not seen Jesse that day. As she rounded the corner she suddenly stopped as she saw Michuri and Haruka standing by thier lockers. They glanced over and saw her, Michuri smiled and waved at her. Sonya returned the smile and walked over to the two.
"Hi," she said softly.
"Hi," Haruka replied.
"How has your day been?" Michuri asked.
"Not too bad," Sonya said looking to the ground. "I was kinda disapointed that I didn't see Jesse today."
"What?" Haruka asked. "He left us this morning to try and find you. He never did?"
"No," Sonya replied. "Is that a bad thing?"
"It can be," Michuri nodded. "He's always on the ball and finds who he wants to when he wants to."
"I bet it was just an excuse," Haruka said suddenly. "The bum probably skipped school again."
"That wouldn't surprise me," Mirchuri replied with a slight laugh.
Sonya watched the two talk about how Jesse always skipped school. It worried her a bit and she wondered if she should head home. About that time a loud crack of thunder could be heard in the distance. Michuri and Haruka looked at each other with worried expressions. They then told Sonya to go home as fast as she could. Sonya nodded and ran towards the door, she felt a sudden fear and could not tell why. Michuri and Haruka took off running out the door and quickly changed into Sailor Neptune and Sailor Pluto.
Sonya stopped as she reached the parking lot. There were dark clouds hanging in the sky and bright, white lightning struck the ground. It frightened her and she realized that she was all alone. She started to head for her house when she heard the distance neigh of a horse. She whirled around and looked for it, but she could see no signs of it. She then bit her lower lip and ran towards town. It was not very far away and she may still be able to see what was happening by the time she reached it.
Sailor Moon threw her strongest and most powerful attack she could against the man but it failed. She stood there in shock, not sure of what to do. The man on the black stallion looked down at her and smirked. He raised a hand as if to shoot something at her when Sailor Pluto and Sailor Neptune appeared. The man was startled and caught off guard by their attacks but quickly recovered and attacked them as well. The rest of the Sailor Scouts joined Sailor Moon and watched as the man cleverly avoided all attacks.
Sonya sneaked up closer to the battle to see the man. His entire body was covered by shadows, and yet it was as if she could see his face. He turned the stallion sharply and caught a glimpse of her. A sly smile appeared on his face as he rode closer to her. The Sailor Scouts tried their best to attack him again and again but he was much quicker and stronger than them. He finally stopped his stallion near Sonya and looked down at her. Sonya felt herself swallow the lump in her throat as he stared at her through that darkness. It was as if she could see a smile on his face, but the darkenss his all emotions.
"What is a lovely girl like you doing here?" he asked her. "Trying to stop me as well?"
"No," Sonya said timidly. "I wanted to see what was going on."
"Hmph," he chuckled. "Well, as you can see there is a battle."
"But why are you fighting them?" Sonya asked.
"To get the Seceptor of the Stars," he told her bluntly.
"Seceptor of the Stars?" Sonya asked staring up at him.
"Sonya watch out!" Sailor Neptune called as she saw the man next to her.
The man jumped and whirled around to face her. He did not want to see the young girl get hurt, so he quickly darted off into the night. He warned the Sailor Scouts that he would be back though, and that the Seceptor would be his. Sailor Neptune and Pluto ran up to Sonya to check on her. She said she was alright and began to question them about the Seceptor of the Stars.
"Supposedly it has the power to control the universe all that is in it," Sailor Neptune explained.
"For some reason he thinks Sailor Moon has it," Sailor Uranus told her.
"Or at least knows where it is," Sailor Mercury added.
"What were you doing here anyway? I thought you were going home?" Sailor Neptune asked her.
"I got curious," she replied. "I just wanted to see what was going on."
"Next time you might want to stay away," Sailor Uranus warned her. "You could get hurt."
"I'm not afraid of him," Sonya replied suddenly.
"What?!" the others asked in unison.
"He reminds me of the guy I've seen in my daydreams...." she told them.
"Really?" Sailor Uranus said, raising an eyebrow.
"Tell us about it later," Sailor Neptune told her. "You better get home before he comes back."
"Right," Sonya nodded.
The next day, Sonya search for Jesse everywhere. She wanted to talk to him, she missed him the other day. As she rounded a corner, she found herself running right into him and falling backwards. Jesse chuckled but quickly helped Sonya up to her feet. She thanked him and quickly asked where he had been the other day. Jesse only smirked and began to walk away. Sonya quickly caught up to him and forced him to stop and look at her.
"Jesse," Sonya said softly. "I missed you yesterday."
Jesse smiled at her and kissed her cheek, "I did you too."
"Where were you?" Sonya asked. "Haruka and Michiri told me that you went looking for me."
"I started out looking for you," Jesse replied and then glanced away. "Something came up though and I had to leave."
"Had to leave? Jesse?" Sonya questioned.
"Don't worry about it Sonya," Jesse smirked. "I'm here now right?"
Sonya let a smile cross her face and nod, "Yes you're right."
Sonya and Jesse walked towards Sonya's class. She told him about yesterday and how she had seen the Sailor Scouts fighting the strange man. Jesse seemed interested and smiled as she talked about the man on the horse. He stopped suddenly and looked around to see if anyone was watching. He then put his arm around Sonya and pulled her off to the side.
"Let's skip today," he whispered to her.
"Skip?" Sonya asked. "I'm not sure Jesse, if my dad finds out...."
"Don't worry," Jesse smiled at her. "You'll be fine. One day won't hurt will it? Besides we can go do something fun together."
"Well...I...I guess so," Sonya nodded.
"Great!" Jesse smiled leading Sonya away and towards a near by door.
Haruka and Michiri watched from a hallway as Jesse lead Sonya outside. They looked at each other and sighed deeply. He was already getting the poor girl into trouble. Haruka shrugged it off though and headed for her class. Michiri stood there watching the two run off though. She did not feel right about this, something was different, strange. Haruka stopped when she realized that Michiri was not beside her.
"What's wrong Michiri? Don't worry about them, let Sonay learn the hard way. She can't be skipping school just because Jesse does," Haurka told her coldly.
"I know that Haruka," Michiri said looking at her friend. "But I can't help but to think something is wrong. Jesse's never done this to anyone else before."
"You know you're right," Haruka nodded. "Are you suggesting that we follow them?"
"No," Michiri shook her head. "But I do think that we need to watch them closely."
"Yeah I agree," Haruka nodded.
Sonya laughed as her and Jesse headed for the parking lot. She had never had so much fun as she did that day with Jesse. Jesse let his arm slide around her waist and pull her close to him. He walked her to her car but stopped when he saw Haruka and Michiri standing there. He nervously let Sonya go and rubbed the back of his head laughing.
"Hey guys," he said.
"Where have you been?" Haruka asked.
"We've just been out having fun," Jesse replied.
"How could you take Sonya out like that," Michiri began to scold. "Do you realize how much trouble she'll get into?"
"Don't listen to them Sonya," Jesse said looking at her. "You won't get into that much trouble."
"Jesse!" Haurka warned. "You know that's a lie."
"Am I really in a lot of trouble?" Sonya asked Michiri.
"You would have been," Michiri nodded. "But Haurka and I covered for you both."
"Thank you Michiri, Haurka. I appreiciate it," Sonya thanked them.
"Yeah no problem," Haurka replied. "Just don't do it again. This guy is nothing but trouble."
"What? Come on Haurka! You always say that but you hang around me," Jesse retorted.
"Only because your friends with Michiri," Haurka snapped back.
"Come on Haurka," Michiri said softly. "Jesse please don't do anything to get Sonya into trouble alright."
"Yeah okay," Jesse nodded. "I guess."
Sonya gently touched Jesse's hand and saw him look over at her, "I had better get going. Dad's probably wondering where I am."
"Alright," Jesse nodded. "I'll see you tomorrow okay."
"Yes," Sonya nodded. "See you later Michiri, Haurka and thanks again!"
Sonya walked inside her house and looked for her father. She found him in the study looking worried. She placed a hand on his shoulder and felt his touch it with his own. He turned to her and smiled softly, but there was something in his eyes that bothered Sonya. She hugged him tightly and asked what was wrong. He sighed heavily and shook his head at her. He then stood by a window and narrowed his eyes at the oncoming storm. Sonya looked out as well and saw the storm approaching.
"It's not a natural storm is it daddy?" she asked.
"That's an understatement my dear," he replied softly. "I have to go Sonya...I have buisness to attend. Will you be alright here by yourself?"
"Of course daddy," Sonya nodded. "Maybe I'll go see what Haruka and Michiri are up to?"
"That sounds good," Blaine smiled. "Becareful alright...and try not to go downtown today."
"Right daddy," Sonya replied then froze suddenly. "Why not daddy?"
Sonya turned around after asking and saw that her father had already disappeared. She whirled around and looked back outside and bit her lower lip. She had a feeling her father knew what was going on, and knew who that strange man was that was attacking the Sailor Scouts. Even though she knew she would be safer away from town, she had to investigate. Her father was hiding something, but what? Sonya took a deep breath and then ran out the door and towards town. She had to beat him there, somehow....
The man on the horse had just thrown a powerful attack and knocked Sailor Moon into the other Scouts. He laughed evilly and let his horse rear up. He began to power up again and his eyes narrowed. He would finally do what other villians had never done before...he would destroy Sailor Moon. He raised his arm back and prepared to shoot another blast when a a strange light appeared in front of the girls, protecting them. After the blast was disingrated, the light died down and the girls looked up to see a strange tall man standing in front of them. In his hands he held the Sceptor of the Stars. The man on the horse began to laugh insanely. He nudged his horse and it began to walk closer to the man. He raised his arm and shot out a blast, but the tall man deflected it easily.
"You will never get the Sceptor, Dark Prince. You realize that don't you?" the tall man told him.
"I will have it," the Dark Prince replied coldly. "And I'll take you out."
"We'll see about that," the protector of the Sceptor grinned.
Sonya heard the fighting start and peered around the corner of a building. She watched with wide eyes and the two men fought against each other. They were both strong and fast. Her eyes wandered to the Scouts as they laid on the ground. She felt her heart sink seeing that. This strange man was much stronger then they were. She looked for Haruka and Michiri but they were no where to be seen. She then turned her attention back to the two men and watched the fight carefully. She saw a blast fly by her and hit the building behind her. Sonya whirled around and saw part of it crashing down towards her. She let out a shriek and heard the fight stop.
"Sonya!" both men cried out.
Sonya was frozen in fear though and could not move. She felt a hard hit from behind and was shoved aside before the building could fall on her. She moaned a bit and sat up on her hands and knees. She looked over to her side and saw Haruka standing up. The girl glanced down at Sonya with a frown.
"You okay?" she asked.
"I think so," Sonya nodded.
"Good," Haruka replied and turned her attention to the two men.
"You know her?" the protector asked the Dark Prince.
"Very well," the prince replied. "But she's safe...shall we continue?"
"No," the protector shook his head.
"Then I'll finish you," the prince said bluntly.
"No don't hurt him!" Sonya cried standing up and running towards the two.
"Sonya are you nuts?" Haruka yelled and chased after the girl.
"Don't hurt him!" Sonya yelled stepping in between the two men.
"Get away Sonya," the protector snapped.
"No I won't," Sonya shook her head, looking up into the eyes of the prince. "Please leave."
The prince looked down at Sonya and stared at her. Her eyes were filled with tears and she had her hands clasped together as if she was begging. She did not want to see anyone hurt. Why was she protecting him though? How did she know him? The prince narrowed his eyes but nodded at her.
"Very well," he said softly. "I'll leave for now...only for you princess."
Sonya was stunned by his words and watched as he turned his horse around and galloped away. She watched him until she could not see him anymore. She then felt a hand on her shoulder and turend around to face the other man. She looked deep into his eyes and felt tears start to fall. Haruka stood beside them and looked at them with question. The other Scouts joined Haruka's side and watched the two carefully.
"I'm sorry," Sonya said softly. "But I couldn't stay at home."
"How...how do you...know each other?" Michiri asked them.
"Sonya you should never face him like that," the protector told her. "Promise me you won't do it again."
"Hey! Hello? Didn't you hear Michiri's question?" Haruka snapped.
"I...I can't," Sonya whispered looking down. "I can't promise you that Daddy."
"What?!" the girls cried in unison.
"You have to Sonya!" he yelled at her.
"I won't! I know I can stop him," Sonya rebutted.
"You know...Sonya," he said in a softer tone.
"Daddy please," Sonya told him. "You can't do it. I saw the battle...you couldn't keep up with him."
Blaine looked away from Sonya and closed his eyes. As much as he hated to admit it, it was true. He was not as young as he used to be. He then opened his eyes and nodded at Sonya.
"I see what you're saying Sonya," Blaine told her. "But are you sure you can handle this responsiblitiy?"
"You're not going to let her take over are you?" Haruka asked.
"Haruka's right," Michiri chimed in. "Sonya, it's hard work...you could get hurt."
"I don't think I will guys," Sonya replied looking at them.
"You know who he is don't you?" Michiri replied.
"Not for sure, but I do have a good guess. Please just let me do this," Sonya told them.
"Alright," Michiri nodded. "As long as you promise to be careful."
"I will be," Sonya nodded looking at her father.
"Alright then," Blaine nodded. "I give you the Sceptor of the Stars, the powers that are held within are yours now."
As Blaine handed the Sceptor to Sonya she felt a strange tingling sense and felt her body being lifted up into the air. A bright light cascaded down onto Blaine and then Sonya. Her outfit had changed into a beautiful silver and white short dress. Her hair was tied up in silver ribbions and sparkles caressed her face. As she landed she opened her eyes and saw her father dressed in normal clothing. She smiled at him and hugged him tightly.
"He must never get ahold of you or the Sceptor Sonya," Blaine told her. "He would destroy the Earth with it."
"He won't get it," Sonya replied. "That I promise you."
Sonya met Haurka and Michiri at the mall the next day. The weekend had finally come and the three girls were going out shopping together. As they walked through the mall, Haurka looked at Sonya and then stopped. Sonya glanced at Haurka and felt nervous suddenly.
"Who is he?" Haurka asked.
"I told you," Sonya sighed. "I'm not for certain."
"But you have a guess," Michiri replied.
"I-I do," Sonya nodded and then walked away.
"Well who do you think it is?" Haurka asked.
"I'd rather not say anything until I know for ceratin," Sonya replied.
"But Sonya," Michiri started.
"Well well," a male voice chimed in. "What a surprise running into you guys here."
The three girls turned around to see Jesse standing there with a smile on his face. Sonya smiled widely and walked over to him. She hugged him and he returned it. Haurka rolled her eyes and Michiri laughed. The two joined Sonya and Jesse and talked for a few minutes. Jesse then put his arm around Sonya's waist and suggested they get a bite to eat. Sonya agreed and looked at Haruka and Michiri. They nodded, they had to, they couldn't leave Sonya alone.
