Me and Basketball.Basketball and Me.

My life has been a veritable soap opera. In my earlier youth I had no idea of what was going on.My grades were non-existant,I didn't really care about anything except for maybe the Ninja Turtles.I was going from foster home to foster home. And eventually I found myself the farthest I was ever from my biological mother whom I love very much.I was in Mission B.C.Life was a big game and I was in grade three.I had no friends, got into alot of fights I set part of the school on fire(luckily I put it out before it got out of hand,I was caught by teachers however). Then, the school introduced netball for grade 3+4 boys.I signed up because I am a natural athelete.I enjoyed it thorougly and was a leading player for my team. The next year I forced my social worker to move me back closer to home and I was put into a local school,Cedar Drive Elementary.I was invited to practice with the grade 7's.At that time I was mentally quite unstable.THe classroom that I was in couldn't handle my violent and awkward behavior.I was transferred to James Park Elementary where a teacher furthered my interest in the game.My interest continued into the following year, grade 5,where I noticed another boy in my class playing every day.I was trying to imitate the same things he was practicing and we soon became friends.I was quickly improving my form to an overhand shot using both hands at once and Dean and I were confronted by the Principal and Vice principal and coach of the grade 7 team, and we were asked to join the garde 7 team. That felt pretty damn good.So my first season went pretty good, considering my age.I scored 4 points that whole season. That year went pretty good.In the summer I attended a summer camp,my first and enjoyed it thoroughly. The next year would be my last at James Park, and my grade six season was a little better than my previous season.I was thoroughly enjoying myself and now Dean and myself were considered the best grade 6s in the school with two of our friends being the 3rd and fourth best.I hated my teacher that year but my coach was the greatest yet.Mr.Wayne Hinada took over for Mr.Ebbot who left the school the previous year.At the end of that year the school district was changing the way that the grade systems went.Instead of having elementary schools going K-7,and having 8-10 going junior high and then 11-12 being senior high,it would be elementary K-5,Middle School 6-8 and senior high 9-12.So my next season was at a brand new Middle School which I was thoroughly looking forward to.
The rest of my history will be up here shortly.
