Early morning sun filtered through the tall windows of the Brewery onto
the sleeping couple. Angie pushed herself up onto one arm and found that
she was incredibly stiff from spending the whole night on Rollie's couch.
"That's it, I'm never going to just fall asleep on this couch again. I
don't care how tired I am." She said grogily to herself. She glanced down
at Rollie who was still sound asleep and had an arm wrapped securely
around her waist. She was about to get up, but decided that the warmth of
his arms was much more inviting. She snuggled against him and pulled the
blanket up around them. She found herself drifting off to sleep going
over the events that had brought her here.
It had started akwardly at best.
.......Last Night
Angie followed Rollie downstairs, they had both agreed that they needed
to talk. When they got downstairs Angie took a seat on the couch, and
Rollie proceeded to pace stopping every so often looking at her like he
was about to speak but then stopped and continued to pace.
"Angie, I...., No wait," He proceeded to pace " I think I'm.." He paused,
"I've fa.." He stopped again, then he bent down next to the couch and
looked at her. "I think I'm-"
"I think I'm in love with you." Angie broke in.
"Yes! Thank You! I think I'm in love with you!" He said without realizing
what she had said. It suddenly sunk in. "Wait you mean, you.."
"I had a feeling that's what you were getting to, and well I've been
feeling the same way, for awhile now. I mean it took me off gaurd I
thought we had certain realtionship, you know."
"Ya, you were you, and I was me, but we weren't us. Is that right?"
"Ya. But I just kinda started to see us..... together, all three of us."
"And I liked that picture, and I guess you did too." He filled in.
"Ya I did." She looked at him and began to laugh.
"What?" He said a little nervous.
"Was that the most abstract conversation you've ever had?!"
"Ya, we seem to do that alot though, don't we?"
"Well we've known each other for what thirteen years now, that's bound to
happen. Anyways the best relationships usually start out as friendships,
and that's what we've been for thirteen years."
There was a tense moment of silence.
"Why do I feel like I should kiss you?" Rollie said with his head
slightly bent, avoiding Angie's eyes.
"Because you should." She replied. And without hesitation, and before he
knew what happened, Angie closed the gap between them and kissed him.
When they parted Rollie looked at her for a minute.
"That was.."
"Incredible." She finished.
"Ya. I'm afraid of going too-"
"Fast though. Ya I agree I think we should take this slow, one step at a
time." Angie once again completed his thought.
Rollie had been kneeling in front of Angie, but then moved to sick next
to her on the couch. She leaned back against him.
That was the last thing that Angie remembered about that night. She knew
they had talked some, but they had fallen asleep together on the shop
couch.
..........THE NEXT MORNING AGAIN
Angie gazed up at Rollie's sleeping face. He always looked so content
when he was sleeping, so innocent. She could get used to waking up to
that. She drifted off to sleep again. 'We'll get up later.' she said to
herself.
Early morning sun filtered though the tall windows of the Brewery onto
the sleeping couple. They would wake up soon enough, after all it was the
first day of the rest of their lives.........together.

So many roads to choose
We start off walking and learn to run.
And yes, We've just begun." -The Carpenters
