Spoilers: = Up=20 through Spanish Harlem
Summary: Leo muses in the after life about his = friends=20 and their lives,
and his view from where he is, while looking down = during=20 "Spanish=20 Harlem"
I=20 was first struck by the absence of need. In life we are consumed by=20 the
ever present need for more, = dissatisfaction with=20 what we already have.
When we pass into the next life, this ends. = There is a=20 contentment that
there is no human comparison for. I at first figured = that=20 this would
allow for a great deal of free time, but there is one = activity=20 that I
never tire of. Looking out for the friends I left=20 behind.
As it turns out we're sort of the go = betweens=20 for our living friends, we
watch out for them, see what we can do to = help=20 em', and over all keep
them out of trouble where we can. Which with = the=20 friends I have is not
easy! I don't dare hope to see Rollie Tyler = soon, but=20 he'll manage to get
here fine on his own. Thank God Angie is there, = at least=20 she keeps him
from doing the more outrageous things. I don't know = what he was=20 thinking
when he went after that old rival from Australia, Luther = Cale. I=20 know he
was doing it for Mangela, but that was a close one. I know = that=20 Rollie
likes living on the edge, but I never realized how close to = the edge=20 he
was until I got up here.
I finally met Manny Ramirez not long = ago. He=20 still watches over Angie. He
was very interested in what I knew about = her=20 relationship with Rollie. I
always thought they were just friends, = buy maybe=20 he knows soemthing that
I don't. I try and stay out of that area of = my=20 friends' lives. Love is a
dangerous area that the newly dead are = advised to=20 stay out of. I doubt
Manny will see the two of them together any time = soon,=20 they're more like
brother and sister, not boyfriend and girlfriend. = He said=20 if anyone could
tame Rollie and his dangerous attitude, it was his = little=20 girl. He's
probably right, but I know he also just wants her to stop = spending=20 so
much time talking to guys on the internet.
I worry about Francis, being a cop = is dangerous,=20 I should know. After
watching him awhile though, I think he's alot = more=20 careful than I ever
was. There's always the risks, which I know he = knows but=20 still worry,
He's got young kids and a wife, I'd hate to see him = leave them=20 behind.
Mira seems nice, she's not as willing to go along with = Rollie's=20 ideas,
but I suppose that I wasn't at first either. She'll learn soon = enough
that Rol's the best, and he helped me out of a jam more than=20 once.
What is Rollie now? I can't believe that he left the Van = unattended=20 in
Spanish Harlem. I can't believe that Mira let him. He really is=20 asking
for trouble isn't he? Well Rol I hope you feel like replacing = all=20 your
equipment. You know only Rollie could get involved in something=20 like
this, this deep, while he was doing his laundry. I've come to=20 appreciate
this new view if for no other reason but you get to see = things you=20 never
could before. For instance Rollie's dancing ability, or lack = there of,=20 I
am witnessing now. Ya, this view from above definitely has an=20 upside.
