Nappanee Police / 911 Center

The Nappanee Police / 911 Center in Nappanee Indiana accepts applications at any time and keeps them on file for 1 year.

The office setting of the Communications Center is computer driven and a basic knowledge of Windows XP, and proper typing skills is a must. Applicant must be 21 years of age, and have a high school diploma or equivalent.

Most training is performed at the Nappanee Police/911 Communications Center. There may be times where commuting to certain classes for certifications is required.

All completed applications are reviewed and will have an extensive criminal background check performed. Applicants contacted for interviews will also be asked to perform various skill tests based on the following areas: Knowledge of the general dispatch coverage area (city and rural areas), general computer skills, spelling, typing and reasoning skills.

After interview selections are narrowed extensive personal background checks are performed. Once candidates are chosen they may be asked to submit to several additional tasks that may include some of the following: voice stress analysis (lie detector), drug test, hearing test, etc.
