The Nappanee Police / 911 Center in Nappanee Indiana is NOT actively looking to fill any positions at this time. However we DO accept applications at any time and keep them on file for 1 year.
The office setting of the Communications Center is computer driven and a basic knowledge of Windows XP, and proper typing skills is a must. Applicant must be 21 years of age (due to evidence & possible handling of alcohol), and have a high school diploma or equivalent.
Most training is performed at the Nappanee Police/911 Communications Center. There may be a need for some commuting for certain classes and certifications.
All completed applications are reviewed and will have an extensive criminal background check performed. Applicants contacted for interviews will also have various skills test performed on knowledge of the general dispatch coverage area (city and rural areas), general computer, spelling, typing, and reasoning skills.
After interview selections are narrowed, extensive personal background checks are performed. Once candidates are chosen, they may be asked to submit to several additional tasks that may include some of the following examples: voice stress analysis (lie detector), drug test, hearing test, and skills test.

Applications maybe may be downloaded for printing at the link below or picked up in person at the above address 24 hours a day. All applications must be completely filled out, and notarized prior to their return. Some insurance companies, and banks have a notary on staff.
