A Tour Of Oaktown Cattery

This is my home, and my cattery in Oaktown, IN.

This is Babette and 3 of her babies. They can be your greeters, since they are sunning themselves at the front door.

The kittens are born in the living room under a roll-top desk. I make a little cave out of a pet carrier, and mama and babies seem to be very comfortable there.

It's only a few weeks before they start to venture outside the cave by themselves. At first, it's just to look around, but then they start to get curious about me and the rest of the house.

I then put them in a playpen with a litter-box. This is where they are potty trained. Mama can still come and go whenever she wishes, but they can't get out. The playpen will only hold them for about 2 weeks, then they are able to climb over the sides. But that is long enough, by the time they're climbing over the sides, they're used to using the litter-box.

The house then becomes a great adventure for them to explore. They get into everything!

Sometimes when I have company, they get more kitty loving than they really wanted!

One can never find an empty chair to sit in.

There is always, at least one cat, at every window.

Sometimes there's three!

Sometimes I take them outside with me. They are always caged, or on the upstairs balcony, where they can't get hurt. I think everyone needs a little sunshine now and then.

Alas, there always seems to be at least one, who is waiting on your phone call. Give me a call, or an email today, you won't regret it.
