Summer

      Will the raindrops ever end?
Can summer come again my friend?
      Summer is like a firefly,
A brilliant sun up in the sky.

Ice cream trucks upon the street,
Hot dogs for a picnic treat.
      Summer is a shady nook,
      Wading in a shallow brook.

      Looking for a shooting star,
Some say summer's the best of all.
      Summer needs the winter,
      Fall and spring provide,
The needed time for seeds to grow,
So summer flowers then may show.

So fear not my faithful friend,
      God knows and understands.

      He brings into our life,
      Cold, dark, damp rain,
So that our spirits can again bloom
      And praise His precious name
