The space station appears to move about the same speed that you see a jet airplane far up in the sky.

The only difference that can be noticed between a jet and the Space Station is that Jets sometimes have a blinking light, whereas the Space Station is a constant moving light.

The jets fly about 4 miles above the earth, whereas the space station is about 400 miles above the earth.

The Space Station can only be seen after sunset or before sunrise if it is passing over your area about that time.
