| "The
college was established in 1966.I joined in the year1967.Those days the
classes were held in the Govt.Polytechnic College Building Dewas Rd. The
First MONOGRAM of the college was designed by me depicting the three prevailing
branches i.e.Civil,Electrical and Mechanical engineering. I was told that
somewhere in 1985 the monogram was changed to represent the additional
branches.I WONDER IF ANYBODY EVER REMEMBERED THE DESIGNER OF THE FIRST
MONOGRAM OF THE COLLEGE! Waqt gujar jata hai,kirdar chale jate hain. Manch
vahi,chehre naye aa jate hain."

talking to some of my indian collegues and found that there is a site where
GECU might be found. And to my pleasent surprise I found GECUites. Proud
to be part of it. Every one who is regiesterd here is pretty "young" as
I am from 1981 batch. I will be happy to correspond with any GECUite. "

| " It
was a real surprise for me to see this web site of My college. I immediately
logged in and was really happy to note that the college which gave me this
so called Engineering Degree has scaled many heights. I congratulate this
New generation Engineers from GECU, who has spearheaded this movement.
In fact this also started at the time of Silver jubilee function of our
college( which I was fortunate to attend in 1995)but could not takeoff.
This function was made by then Principal(DSS) with whom I had personal
contacts . I still remember this function and the Kavisammelan in the night.
Infact I had difficulty recognising my own batchmates in thst function.
It was all possible for me to attend all the way from BHEL Jhansi, due
to close contacts I had with few of my juniors at Ujjain. I find myself
the oldest one in the Ex-student registered there. I will have to now initiate
this movement and get more and more friend of my time on this plateform.
I wish this movement a grand success. I will like to meet all those involved
in this mission on my next visit to Ujjain( Needless to say this is my
home town). Thanks a lot for creating this entry on WEB. "
