Sometimes it begins as a rainstorm.....drops falling, temperature dropping, drops getting
heavier until they turn to white and begin to stick to the ground. Other times, it's simply
too cold for the rain and the snow falls, often without warning but always, it comes
quietly not making a sound as it touches everything around it. We awaken to a new fallen
snow and we gasp at the beauty of it as the sun shine makes it sparkle like millions of
tiny diamonds have landed in our yards and on our trees and streets around us. Funny
thing about snow though. If you look around you - no matter where youlive.... whether in
an apartment building overlooking a busy street, a countryhome on farmland that
stretches for miles, a place where all you see when you look out is an alleyway with a
dumpster at the end of it - when that first snowfall comes EVERYTHING it touches turns
white. And for one brief moment,or hour, or day - everything it touches becomes equal
because of that whiteness. So it is with the blood of Jesus - sometimes it touches us in astorm in ourlives, sometimes we learn of it slowly, sometimes it grows with us as we
learn at the hand of our parents or in church week after week... ...but when it comes, it
comes quietly, covering us and all our sin..... and it makes everything it touches white as
snow..... and again, everyone touched by it becomes equal. "Though your sins be as
scarlet they shall be white as snow, though they be red as crimson, they shall be as
wool."
