Intelligent Copying
What is it?
Intelligent Copying in architecture is not direct duplication of someone else's design. It is just the inspiration an architect
got from another design. Rathering than straight-forward duplication of a design, some modifications have to be maken to apply that "inspiraion" in one's own design.
Why we are studying copy cats?
As mentioned before, Intelligent Copying is only a term to describe an inspiraiton, it has nothing to do with direct copying.To work out a good
design, an architect has to consider also the characteristics of the site, the requirements of the client and all other practicabilty problems. By studying how an architect "intelligently"
copy someone else's design, we can learn to apply modification skills in our own designs, too. So when we appreciate others' designs, we know the way to adopt their merits nd apply
in our designs as well.
