The house will be the home of a workaholic chemist.
She is 38 years old, married with no children, and live together with her husband (36 yrs old) and a laboratory assistant (36 yrs old) in the house.
The reason why she moved to Lamma is that her husband hopes to find a more relaxed place where she can quietly do some research.
She has a incredible passion for organic chemistry, which she believes is a way to find her existence in the Universe. And she is a part-time lecturer in the Department of Chemistry in a local university.
Her husband is a computer programmer which works for a major software company. Apart from his work, he also helps her to do computer-aided experiments and simulations.
The laboratory assistant is a tenant in the house. She follows the chemist in university, and also helps preparing laboratory routines in the home-lab as well.
The couple is from Germany(wife) and USA(husband) but the assistant is a local Chinese, so they have different cultural backgrounds. They have to adapt to each other's lifestyles. But they all share a common value: a love of the natural world, which is a simple reason to explain why they will live together in Lamma.
