With the 8 masts providing major support of the whole superstructure, the external skin of all usable floor space is simply a curtain wall - full-height and fully glazed.

Characteristic

• Consists of two layers of glass in a typical curtain wall section
• Outer curtain - 12mm thick fully tempered and heat soaked clear glass
• 100mm air space between the outer and inner curtains
• Inner openable skin - 5mm thick grey tinted glass "back-up" wall
• Glass set in extruded aluminium mullions at 1200mm centres, which are suspended from each floor by a cast aluminium bracket, with a vertical movement joint at the junction to the mullion below
• ± 30mm movement joint capacity at typical perimeter curtain walling
• Aluminium sunshades are attached to the bracket

The fully glazed curtain wall enables people inside and outside the building to know exactly what is going on around. Such high degree of transparency / openness is beneficial to the operation of the bank.
