Illinois 128 is a north-south route running on the west side of Lake Shelbyville, passing through Shelbyville, and continuing south to I-70. It runs on the western county line of Moultrie County, and eventualy on the western county line of Effingham County, too.

IL121 at Dalton City
IL128 joins IL16 west at Shelbyville
It breaks off of IL16 to head south again
IL33 near Beecher City
It joins US40 east
IL128 breaks off at Altamont
It runs on a stretch whose distance is less than a mile, to terminate at I-70.
It passes through these towns: Dalton City, Shelbyville, Cowden, Altamont.
