Trigeminal Neuralgia (aka Tic Douloureux) is known as "the worst pain known to man and medicine" and "the suicide disease".
TN produces "lighting like" pains through the lower jaw, upper jaw, cheek, eye socket, ear, and temple area on one side of the face. Burning sensations, swelling, and bruising have been reported by those with TN.
There are many causes of this disease. A tumor on the nerve cluster (located by the ear), a blood vessel on the nerve, nerve damage, or the doctors don't know.
