Arcola
falls short; Martinsville wins
BEMENT -- South Piatt edged Arcola
34-33 Friday in Little Okaw Valley Conference play.
Kyle Downs scored three times,
including a 31-yard touchdown scamper. The two teams traded scores all
night but South Piatt managed two more extra points.
Brent Miller and Josh Graven each
scored a touchdown to help the Purple Riders.
Arcola is to travel to East Central
Friday.
MARTINSVILLE -- Martinsville defeated
Red Hill 21-20 Friday in Little Illini Conference play.
Phillip Higginbotham led in rushing
with 138 yards and one touchdown. Matt Higginbotham had 66 yards and
one touchdown as well. Andy Chambers added 45 yards and one touchdown,
while Dan Gard had six solo tackles and eight assists on the defensive
side.
Martinsville, 2-6, is to play
Lawrenceville Friday.
