Since is inception streetcorna has come a long way from recording in a local dorm, and using their closet as a booth. In the fall of 2001, the foundation to what has become one of the most talented groups on the unsigned market was layed. Nova then known as confezzion had struck a friendship with a student at school who also had the same musical love and at the time had been known by the moniker scalez. After much conversations they both noticed that they did not only have the same love, but also the same talent to put words together. Pretty soon they would start rapping everyday and try to come up with ways on how to further capitalize their talents. By the year 2003 the duo has already opened some ears, but by a chance meeting nova overheard a sweet voice coming from a room in his college dorm bulding. After somehow sweetalking the girl to sing for him once more, nova knew he had discovered a rare talent. It wasn’t till a few days after the chance meeting that the two spoke, that the songstress became aware of nova’s musical ambitions. At the same time nova and scalez had been increasingly aware of another student who was swarming the ladies with his vocal skills. It wasn’t till they witness the student sing in person that they knew he was the real deal, at the instant they named him notez. At a party a few days later in which all four attended the girl who nova had swayed into singing for him had been seen turning many guys down, it was at that instant that the name Trife’lyn had somehow emerged as the right name for the songstress.
All four members hail from some of the grimiest and grittiest streets of new york. Trife hails from the hoods of Brooklyn, while the other three male members nova, scalez, and ‘notez all hail from the streets of the Bronx. Together these four make up the family called streetcorna. Through their album/demo streetcorna focuses to take their listeners on a journey full of creativity and harsh realities. As they themselves explain it, there is streetcorna in every hood on every street, were just trying to take everyone on a ride through every one of those streets. While also taking their listeners on a different passage not often taken by many groups their age.
