Fortress Of Solitude
Now Playing: The Gap Band: You Dropped A Bomb On Me
Hello!

I'm writing this from my luxurious apartement on the 4th floor. The view is amazing... U can see the sea if u know where to look. This apartement is situated in Hakaniemi, Chicago block so it is quite close to the city centre. It is a relief that I don't have to think about night busses and such when I'm out partying with my friends; I can always walk home.

It took about 2 weeks before I got everything out of the boxes here. Now it finally feels like home.

Last week we went on a cruise to Stockholm. We had plenty of fun even though there seemed to be quite few people on board the ship... the disco was dead and so on. It didn't bother me because I don't care about that shit anyways. We spent the 6 hours in various shops in Stockholm. I bought a record, some magazines, books, 3 t-shirts, games and comics. We almost got left behind(because of a sale in a comic shop). We got on board and a minute(2?) later the ship was moving out of the harbour.

It would be cool to spend some more time there next summer. Like a week or so.

I will start working again next monday. More GP business:)

It is always nice to make some money.

I've seen lots of movies recently but none of them were any good... ok 1 was cool, it is a classic anyway: "Les Quatre Cent Coups" by Truffaut.

We are starting another roleplaying campaign soon. It is going to Blue Planet which is nice 'cause I really like scifi.

I'm currently reading this book: Jonathan Lethem: "The Fortress Of Solitude". I read another book(Gun With Occasional Music) by the same author and I liked it alot.... it was a scifi detective story like none other. This new book is quite different. It is situated in Brooklyn in the late seventies/ early eighties and the spotlight is on these 2 kids: 1 white and 1 half black/half white. It focuses on things that they are interested in like skully(a game of sorts), comics and later on graffiti. I think there is going to be a supernatural element in the book later on but I'm not sure what. I really recommend this book to all my readers(yes u 3 should read it).

ok I'm out

see yall

Roasted cockroaches
Now Playing: Booty Bass Volume 2
Hello and happy new year!

Our exhibition came and went. Lots of people went to see it so I guess I can call it a success. We even got a positive review in Hesari: http://tarrat.lettukestit.com/HS-08_01_2005.jpg

I've been very busy making stuff for my portfolio. Prints and other graphic stuff... I should also make some 3d objects for it.

I sure wish I get into that school in the Netherlands. That's all I wish for myself this year:)

We are still trying to move. It would be cool to live little closer to the city centre.

I received the envelope from stickerswitch:) It had like 20 stickers in it and most of them were really cool. I will send another envelope to them soon.

I'm trying to arrange a movie marathon for the next weekend. We are gonna watch some old kungfu movies and such.

ok see ya

until next time

Opening
Hello!

Our opening went well. We had plenty many people there, some paintings were sold and so on. I was too drunk... I wanted to see Huoratron but I had to go home around 23.00. I had drank too much punch and almost a full bottle of 1 star jallu.

In the end I'm very glad that we finally managed to do this thing!

here is our street art exhibition's website: http://tarrat.lettukestit.com/

There r some photos too.

We have GP:s pikkujoulut tonight. I think I'll go there but this night I'll stick to just lemonade.

Had my hair cut again... that mullet just had to go.

Ok I'm out

see yall

Colors
Hello!

I managed to create 1 painting. I'm not totally satisfied with the colors. I'll look at it again next monday and decide then what I'll do with it. The stencils that I did worked well. It is very nice to do this sorts of things... it keeps me alive. Oh I wish we had our own workroom just for this type of activities.

Next week I'm gonna book my appointment for the toefl test. It tests my skills at english language. This test costs over 100 euros but it is needed if you want to get enrolled in to a school in the netherlands for example.

ok

until next time

see ya

No more: "oisko sulla hetki aikaa" at least for a while.
Hello Hello!

Friday was my last day working at the streets. Next week I'm gonna do some phoning and so on but it will be only for a couple of days. I think I'll have to get another job soon. It has been a very pleasant experience working for the GP.

I sent an email to this school in the Netherlands and ordered an application form. It would be supa sweet to get enrolled in to this school. The course is a mix of industrial design, graphics and other things and it lasts 4 years.

I heard that the dutch women are pretty:)

I'm gonna paint some artwork with stencils for the upcoming art exhibition. I will also do some collages... I hope someone will buy some of my work. We have the opening next thursday. The exhibition is at gallery Parasit3, neitsytpolku 8. It is open 16.12-16.1 tue-sun.

ok... I'm out!

see yall

Single again!
Hello!

The party went surprisingly well.

We had aproximately 50 guests. Nothing was broken and not too many beers were spilled on the floor. There was this 1 guy who did all sorts of stupid things like: smoked inside, constantly spilled wine on the floor and accidentally took 1 of Aleksi's shoes.

1 weird thing happened the morning after the party: When I was going to the bathroom to wash my teeth I found an empty can of cat food. This can was bought by Antero for his cats. Somebody must have eaten the whole can!!!

to the guy(/girl?) who did this where ever you might be: get some help!!

I'll post a link to the party photos as soon as possible.

oh yeah 1 thing: I'm single again! Horray!

last week at work

see yall

Finally fixed the g'damn machine!!!
Hello Hello!

Ill Janne is in a happier mood today!

Our big party is on next saturday... there are almost 60 names on the invitation list. Dunno how many will actually show up.

We(Hannu, Aleksi, Elmeri and me) will do some posters and stuff for the party. The theme is comic like monster characters or something similar.

Not many working days left:)

Oh yeah! I finally fixed my mp3 player(creative zen touch) and I did it all by myself!!!
I'm now ripping my cd collection. I already have 145 cd's ripped.

Another reason to celebrate is the fact that I'll get my vinyl order finally. They are able to deliver 6 of the nearly 15 records I ordered and it took them like 3 months or so. Anyways it is nice to be able to play some new booty bass at the party.

There is 1 very good thing about this job: I stay outside the time when there is some sun light. I don't get as depressed as I usually do at this time of year.

I sent some stickers to this stickerswitch http://www.stickerswitch.com/

They will send me a random stash of stickers from all over the world. It is very exciting to see what I will get.

ok I'm out!

see ya'll(at the party hopefully)

You don't know what love is
Hello!

My b-day is next sunday but I have the main party the week after that...

I got promoted!

I'm the new teamleader. yei!

I now earn 10.50 euros/hour:

I've been to Tampere 2 times. I worked there for some days. Tuukka lives there nowadays. We have had lots of fun there: poetry night, free jazz and all sorts of other things.

...

All kinds of shit went down. As most of you have probably heard the streetart exhibition was cancelled. I'm going to arrange it sometime next year... I hope.

...

this song describes my mood well:

"You Don't Know What Love Is"
by Billie Holiday

You don't know what love is
?Til you?ve learned the meaning of the blues
Until you?ve loved a love you've had to lose
You don't know what love is

You don't know how lips hurt
Until you've kissed and had to pay the cost
Until you've flipped your heart and you have lost
You don't know what love is

Do you know how lost I've been
At the thought of reminiscing
And how lips that taste of tears
Lose their taste for kissing

You don't know how hearts burn
For love that cannot live yet never dies
Until you've faced each dawn with sleepless eyes
You don't know what love is

You don't know how hearts burn
For love that cannot live yet never dies
Until you've faced each dawn with sleepless eyes
You don't know what love is

...

im out

Mini-pigs
Huh huh!

What a busy week it was and to top that... this one doesen't feel much easier.

L&A

Some of the films weren't that special but almost all of them were definitely worth seeing. I especially liked the following:

"Five Obstructions" by Lars von Trier: This 1 was very easy to enjoy and it wasn't as heavy as his other work... very artsy but in a good way. Definitely worth seeing if you really like cinema as an artform.

"Aaltra": This one was very funny and it surprised me positively. It added to the experience that I saw the directors/lead actors at the theatre. They were very funny guys and I think that at that moment they were pretty drunk too... if all belgians are this nice I definitely want to go there someday.

"Mercano the Martian": I was laughing my ass off in this one... hella good Argentinian animation. Imagine southparkish characters that are speaking spanish. The script was done well too.

"Azumi": Good chanbara action... I'm very glad that this one wasn't dead serious like some other new japanese samurai/ninja-flicks.

"Save The Green Planet": This one is a hard one. I liked some parts of it and I have to admit that it is a quality production but some images/parts of this film were so disturbing that I cannot fully like this film. It was worth seeing but I dunno when I wanna see it again. 1 + side is the fact that there were lots of good jokes in it

"Steamboy": This 1 didn't let me down even though it wasn't that amazing either.

...

I met Lotta during l&a. It was nice to meet her even though we saw each others only briefly. I saw a making of movie of a music video they shot this summer... I'm eagerly waiting for the video itself.

Oh yeah! I visited helsinki comic festival too. I bought some comics(mike diana, pekar&crumb among others) and "street logos" book but overall it was very lame.

We have started a new rpg campaign here. The game is Fvlminata and there are 4 players which must be like the unofficial record for the number of participants in a game run by me(ropecon games excluded). We are trying to play every tuesday.

Our street art exhibition is proceeding nicely. I have some stuff ready too... check my front page if u wanna know what I have done for it. I'm gonna do some stencils too(james cagney posing as a gangsta). I'm gonna see Mark tomorrow. He is an old friend of mine that I haven't seen in a while. I invited him to join our crew of artists for the exhibition.

Elmeri is going to bring me 200 sticker sheets tomorrow! It feels like christmas!

I saw Empa last saturday. It was very nice to see her cause I have't seen her in a very long time. I think she is slightly depressed because she is stuck in Lahti. She was very determined to continue studying there though.

Haven't seen Aleksi in awhile... I sent him some stickers(files) and he liked them alot:)

I'm going to be workin next weekend at the organic food fair. I bet that it will be easy to get new members for gp there.

I've been home alone for 1&1/2 week now. Haven't had the time to fully enjoy this fact.

...

see ya

PS: Sage Francis is going to perform in Hki!
