Wacker Dr. and Franklin St. right turn diagram sign at the eastbound transition from I-290 into Congress Pkwy., Chicago, Cook County. This marks the beginning of Wacker Dr., a road which exists concurrently as a surface street and an underground thoroughfare along the south side of the Chicago River between here and US 41 (Lake Shore Dr.).

I-55 overhead exit signage on US 41 (Lake Shore Dr.) North, Chicago, Cook County. This ramp marks the starting point of I-55 South.

Gantry signage on I-24 West for Vienna/Golconda and US 45 (Exit 37), Metropolis, Massac County. This is the first exit for I-24 West into Illinois after crossing the Ohio River from Kentucky. The purpose for the Vienna/Golconda exit sign is unclear, as it is the second exit ahead on I-24 West, 21 miles away.

I-24 guide sign on US 45 South, Metropolis, Massac County. In lieu of a city, the control destination for I-24 West is given as Interstate 57.
