November 10/Fourth meeting
::Small party to celebrate the holiday season!
::Sign-ups for future events; Human Broom, social event (whale watching), Multi-Cultural Fair (Vietnam). Passed out community service verification slips for those who cannot attend ERF events but wish to complete hours independently.
::Collected money for Newman's Organic Chocolate for fundraising. Come back next Friday @ lunch to pick them up!
::Recycling: have you seen our flyers around school?
::Website is finally up and will be updated frequently. This is especially important if you miss a meeting/event or would like to learn more about our club. Link is at the bottom of ERF e-mails.
::Fun holiday facts: Did you know...the 2.65 billion Christmas cards sold each year in the U.S. could fill a football field 10 stories high? If we each sent one card less, we'd save 50,000 cubic yards of paper! Did you know...if every family reused just 2 feet of holiday ribbon, the 38,000 miles of ribbon saved could tie a bow around the entire planet? Wow! Visit California Integrated Waste Management Board for more information.
::Remember to recycle your Christmas trees! They will be turned into mulch, which is used as a ground cover to provent erosion, evaporation of water from the soil, and freezing of roots.
::Quote of the day: "The frog does not drink up the pond in which he lives." --Indian proverb.
::Gift from our advisor: $500 donation to the club account! Many thanks to Mrs. Murphy!
