Bandits who resumed play from a week off showed the Brooklyn Hitmen who were currently in second place in the division, that the week layoff had no effect on the Bandits play on this day. The Bandits who were the visiting team the first game came out and showed the Hitmen who the real "hitmen" really are, by pounding out 8 hits and 9 runs in the first inning. With this run support Bandits starting pitcher Jamie just went out and threw strikes and watch his defense sparkle behind him. With gold glover John F at third base vacuuming up every hard hit ball his way the Hitmen had not chance putting a rally together to get back in this game. By the 5th inning The Bandits finally put the Hitmen out of their misery by scoring 6 runs and taking the first game by run rule 15-1. Great first game and offense heroes (Cookie 2 for 3 2-1b, 2 runs, RB 2 for 2 1-1b,1-2b, 1-bb, 1-RBI and 2 runs,Chris D 2 for 3 1-1b, 1-2b, 1-RBI and 2 runs,Will 2 for 2 1-2b, 1-3b, 1-bb, 2 RBI and 2 runs, Mike Cass 2 for 3 2-1b, 3-RBI and 1 run, John F 2 for 3 1-1b, 1-3b, 4-RBI and 1 run). With the first game in hand via the run rule Bandits manager Chris knew this next game was not going the be easy. With starting pitcher Jamie having to throw back to back games The Bandits once again had to do it with the bats. The Hitmen had taken advantage of some poor Bandit defense and I repeat had taken an 8-0 lead. But the bottom of the 3rd the Bandits offense started its comeback and Mike Cass started the inning with a single and John, Jamie, John F followed with the same to get the Bandits on the board, but the Bandits were not just done yet. With Cookie and the top of the order coming up with only one out Cookie and RB hit back to back triples to help the Bandits get back to within 3 runs (8-5). With four more innings left starting pitcher Jamie shutdown the Hitmen offense and gave the Bandits offense what it needed to setup the Hitmen for a big disappointment. The bottom of the 6th the top of the order coming up score still 8-5, RB started the Bandits game winning rally with a single which was followed by a triple by Chris D that scored RB. With Chris on third the Hitmen for some reason elected to put the tying run on by intentionally walking Longstreet to face hot hitting Will, but Will made them pay by hitting a hard grounder past the third basemen and scoring Chris D and putting runners on first and second. With the tying run on second and Cookie running for Longstreet and one out This was the "Dodge Turning Point of the Game." With the tying run on second and the go ahead run on first Chris F with the count 1-2 laces a single up the middle and the right center fielder thought he had a shot to gun down Cookie who was the tying run at home, took his eye off the ball and allowed it to go under his glove and thru his legs to allow all the runners to score. This comeback from 8 runs down shows the team has what it takes to win a championship. Hitting heroes for second game (RB 2 for 3 1-1b,1-3b,1-RBI and 1 run, Chris D 1 for 2 1-3b, 1-bb,1-RBI and 1 run,Will 2 for 3 2-1b,1 run, Jamie 1 for 2 1-1b, 2-RBI and 1 run,John F 2 for 2 1-1b,1-2b, 1 run, Chris F 1 for 3 game winning hit and 3-rbis. Shout outs to Jamie pitching 2 great games and shutting down the Hitmen to help the offense comeback. Shout out to Mike Cass with his aggressive base running in the second game that spurred on the offense in the bottom of the 3rd. Also big shout out to Johnny Golden Gloves with his stellar defense at third base in the first game. By the way he still needs that oxygen tank!
