Get to know a little more about DR. SAM
Dr. Sam, also known as Samantha Sendlewski, was born in 1971 in a small town in Maryland. Growing up, she loved nature and science and by the time she was in high school, her goal in life was to become a healthcare professional.
She started out in pharmaceuticals at the age of 18 and used the money from that career to pay for college in order to obtain a Master's Degree in Psychology. She then was certified in Psychiatry.
Since beginning in her practice, Dr. Sam has used her prescription and pharmacist knowledge to diagnose patients with the best, most effective drugs to date and over 45% of her patients have been cured. They were all helped due to medicine treatment as well as Samantha's kindness and patience. She is also known to listen to the patient, be a friend and be someone they could talk to.
Samantha wanted to reach out and help as many people as possible. She also was curious to find out about other health and medical related conditions, procedures and careers. After a lot of phone calls she got through to ABC and convinced them of her idea for a new show and signed a contract in Summer 2000. With the help of the network, Dr. Sam was able to use resources to get in touch with other doctors, practicioners, and patients throughout the country to be guests on her show.
Finally, in 2001, she started her television career, with the show called "Dr. Sam", which focuses on awareness for different disorders and how they can be treated. Since the premiere of the show, she has won numerous awards, and gained many celebrity friends and fans.
Oprah, one of her new best friends, has been quoted saying the following: "Dr. Sam is changing lives day by day. She is currently one of the most sought after doctors in the country. She is also the most successful, youngest psychologist, pharmacist, friend and wonderwoman nationwide."
Dr. Sam hopes to continue to change the lives of others for a long time and her future plans includes getting married and eventually having children. No matter what, her main priority will always be helping others.
