gag me with a spoon!

The trendy, mall-hopping teens of California's San Fernando Valley had a language all their own, and this was satirized brilliantly in Frank and Moon Unit Zappa's 1982 song Valley Girl. Soon, we were using phrases like gag me with a spoon, like omigawd! and fer sure, fer sure.

"The focus of all Val activity was definitely The Galleria, a mall in Sherman Oaks, California. This is where they went to buy their white pumps, their bitchin' miniskirts, and their little ankle socks. All on Daddy's credit card of course. Like, totally."
