Monday July 2nd/ The Hut-Bartonville: This was interesting. A nice little festival at "the Hut" in Bartonville. There were originally supposed to be about 12 to 15 bands at the show starting at noon. However about half of those bands showed up..and we got thrown on the bill...and, ultimately the show didn't start until about 7pm. Well, we got there at 6 and started drinking. Yeah, things got a little crazy...met some new peeps Sarah from Toronto, Francsine from NY(i'm sure i spelled that wrong...sorry!), E.C.(sup man, thanks for the drum throne!), Brittnay and Melissa, Mike from X-Conformist, and all else. It was cool..UNTIL it was time to play. So, five hours and 60 beers later we hit the stage...the mood was rather surley from the start...and from the first note i knew we were fucked. The first song was messed up...Professor Andy was falling on the floor Mark was falling on the floor..it was ugly. We got through about 3 1/2 songs and that was it. Professor Andy threw down his guitar Mark jumped in the crowd and Mike picked up his snare, threw it face down on the floor, and jumped over his drums. One thing lead to another and the fists were flying! Mark ended up with a broken wrist..but, all is patched up now!
The last show was at the Morton Teen Center. This show totally sucked and there isn't much more to say about it. Kids....get your asses to the shows and put down the playstation controllers!! Lazy fucks!
Really not much going on with "the wet spots" right now. We recorded our demo at Paper Lantern Studios with Kevin Dixon. And, right now we're just learning some new songs and getting ready to go on a short tour at the beginning of August. Our next local show is Aug. 1st at "the Freudian Sip" in Washington, IL, which will kick off our mini-tour. After that, we may be on a little hiatus because Mike is going back to school. We will probably play a show here and there but, you should make it out to the show on Aug. 1st!! Get up..and get out!
Well, like I said last time, we were getting ready to go out on a little jaunt. Besides our show in Washington, IL, we are doing 4 other shows in Indianapolis,IN;Murfreesboro,TN;Nashville,TN and Columbus,OH. So, far we've finsihed two days of that tour:
Thursday, Aug 2nd Melody Inn, Indianapolis: This show was alright..the place is a dive..but, that's cool. We played first for a very small crowd. and actually...we totally fuckin blew people away. Thanks to the fellas in "your mom" for letting us use their bass rig..that was a HUGE help. Of course, by the end of the night some of the band members...namely Mark...was trashed and ended up getting us thrown out. nice work.
Friday, Aug 3rd Red Rose, Murfreesboro, TN: This was another full on effort (again, thanks to john brown battery for letting us use a bass rig!). We rocked..the crowd was cool..the girls were hot(we have to apologize for Mark)...it was a blast. Thanks to Andrew and John.
Saturday, Aug 4th Indienet, Nashville, TN: We really weren't supposed to play this show, but, we showed up and they let us play! Thanks a million PJ and Kevin from Nowhere Fast. We played with Nowhere Fast and Seretonin. It was a pretty good lineup..but, there really wasn't anyone there. I think that we played for about 10 people at the most. But, what could we expect playing a show that was totally last minute. We got 5 bucks and drove about 8 hours after the show cause we couldn't find a damn hotel!! yah..it sucked!
Sunday Aug. 5th, Columbus, OH: This was it...the last show...thank God. Well, we "thought" that we were playing with two other bands nice and simple right. Duh...of course not, nothing is ever simple on tour! We showed up and all of a sudden there are FIVE bands playing...and none of them are anything like us...except for Gurlush Figure, they were pretty cool Riot Gurl type stuff! But, there was this band called click..fuck them, they sound like another slipknot rip off..and, I have had it up to "here" with that bullshit. But, once again, we get screwed. We were told to play first...which was cool cause we really didn't wanna sit through those other bands. Of course, they didn't want us to play first and tried to muscle us and get us to play 4th. We told them to fuck off and went ahead and rocked the place!! The only good thing is that they had really good sound, so we were loud and bitchin! We got done..and said "fuck it" let's go cause me and Marcos got the hastle from the cops. I felt bad though cause Eric fromthe new bomb turks showed up after we had arleady took off. Sorry man, we couldn't take it!!!
Wednesday Aug. 8th, 1704 Ayres, Peoria: We got thrown on this show the day of. It was problem after problem (a recurring theme eh?!) my drums were messing up, Prof. Andy's Guitar amp was jacked and Marcos' Bass amp is just too damn small. But, we played for the 6 people there in the basement anyway and, it wasn't that bad. After the show, Mark quit. So, we're looking for a new guitarist/singer..know someone? drop us an email.
