Women On Wheels® - Northwind Riders Chapter
HELLO!! Women On Wheels® was founded in 1982 for the express purpose of uniting women motorcyclists. We are dedicated to promoting the interests of all women who ride, whether on their own machine, as a passenger on someone else's, or as future motorcyclists!
We would like to introduce you to the NORTHWIND RIDERS!!!
The NORTHWIND RIDERS, a chapter of Women On Wheels® was started in January 1988 as the Northern Illinois Chapter, with 18 women and 5 support men, and in May of that year, we became the NORTHWIND RIDERS.
We meet on the 3rd Saturday of each month in the WHITE OAK LIBRARY DISTRICT – ROMEOVILLE BRANCH. Our meeting time is 10:00 to 11:30 a.m. The library is located at 201 West Normantown Road, Romeoville, IL 60446.
Driving Directions:
Rte. 53 to Normantown Road go West, 2 blocks on left at intersection of Normantown Road and Dalhart Avenue/Luther Drive (Traffic Light). Or Weber Rd. to Normantown Road go East, approx. 2 miles on right at intersection
of Normantown Road and Dalhart Avenue/Luther Drive (Traffic Light).
Our chapter members range from 40 to 80+ years in age. We vary in riding skill from the "brand new" to over 40 years experience. When we ride together, we ride in "staggered group formation" and we abide by all state laws and safety rules. We do encourage wearing a helmet, but each member makes her own decision.
NWR members participate in various activities. We enjoy 1-day and overnight rides, charity and contest destination rides, lunch rides after meetings, events with other chapters and the annual WOW Internation Ride-In.
The NORTHWIND RIDERS chapter is like a family. We enjoy and care for each other and we watch out for each other on and off the road! Take note of this year's ride/event schedule. We hope you join us during the rideing season for fun, friendship and strengthen our sisterhood.
Till then,
KEEP THE SHINY SIDE UP & THE RUBBER SIDE DOWN!
