Love's Torment

A lonely person
Walks home alone,
Brushed aside,
Not wanted anymore.
As she walks, her pace slows,
Almost to a stop.

She feels a bitter sting,
A pain like no other,
Like an old rag,
Tossed aside
When it was used.

With time, her wounds
Will heal, But not now,
Only loneliness, and fear.
It will happen again,
It can't be avoided
