Welcome!!

Professionall

I am an associate
professor in the School
of Education at National University, in
San Diego, CA. The courses
I teach in the Department include Cultural Foundations of Linguistics, Methodology for Language Development in First
and Second Language and Student Teacher Supervision.
My own research interests are second language
acquisition and foreign language pedagogy. I'm particularly interested in
foreign language immersion programs, and have done several studies of these
programs. Some of the questions I research are, "How proficient do
children in immersion programs become?,"
" Are immersion programs appropriate for students with special
needs?," " Does learning a second language affect one's first
language?"

More about Me...
I'm also a writer of mystery novels, and I'm proud to be published by Strategic Books Publishing through the AEG Group and by PublishAmerica. My novels are Publish or Perish and B-Very Flat.
You're also welcome to check out my blog, Confessions of a Mystery Novelist, where I discuss all sorts of aspects of crime and mystery fiction.
When I'm not on the job... I'm probably doing
something musical. For instance, I am a musician (keyboard, piano, and
vocals) and I'm a serious fan of Billy Joel.
My favourite types of music are classic rock and all
forms of jazz and blues, especially classic jazz (think Charlie Parker or John
Coltrane) and acoustic blues (think Brownie McGhee and Sonny Terry). Some of my other interests... I am an advocate for those in need, especially those
who cannot speak for themselves. If you're interested in some of the causes
I support, you may want to visit my links
page. It includes the websites of several
organizations that work for a better world.
